Working withour reinsurance team in North Americayou’ll learn more aboutreinsurance broking, risk mitigation solutions,contractsdecision makingand support our teams, doing real work for Howden Re's current and prospective clients.Â
Whatyou’ll be doingÂ
Reinsurance is a complexworld; the easiest way to think about it is thatit’s insurance for the insurers.Working with ourteams,you’ll help insurance companiesprotect their futures, and the people they insure.Â
As a Contracts Intern,you’ll learn about the reinsurance contracts process and relationships among reinsurance counterparties as youparticipate insendingfinal contract documents to reinsurers and clients for execution and tracking status of the documents.Â
On aday-to-day basisyou’ll:Â
Review and create PDFs of final Reinsurance Contracts, Interests and Liabilities Agreements, and related documents at direction of the Contracts Wording TeamÂ
Transmit final Reinsurance Contracts, Interests and Liabilities Agreements, and related documents to ceding companies and reinsurers at direction of the Broking TeamÂ
Track status of transmitted documents via tracking toolÂ
Monitor and manage Transmittal Shared Mailbox in OutlookÂ
Prepare regular reports on status of transmitted documentsÂ
Follow up with outstanding markets for signaturesÂ
Compile fully executed documents into single PDF filesÂ
Update contract files with executed documentationÂ
Communicate and coordinate with broker, contract drafter, and transmittal specialist asrequiredÂ
Perform other miscellaneous duties as assignedÂ
Whowe’re looking forÂ
You’ll be working towards aBachelor’sdegree inany subject.You’ll be able to clearly communicate your thoughts and ideas both in writing and in person. And be able to handle multiple tasks and projects at the same time in a client service, deadline-driven environment.Â
You will:Â
Activelypursuing aBachelor’s degreeÂ
Be a rising senior (graduating in December 2027 or by June 2028)
Have aGPAof3.0+Â
Be proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPointÂ
Have the ability to explain complex contracts in simple terms so anyone can understand it, either in writing or over the phoneÂ
Pay close attention todetail, because every small detail mattersÂ
