Contract Surety Underwriter Associate

Brown & Brownis seeking a Contract Surety Underwriter Associate to join our growing team inPipersville, PA.  

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Underwriting Assistant to support our Contract Surety team. This role assists producers and underwriters throughout the bond placement process, ensuring submissions are processed accurately, clients receive exceptional service, and carrier requirements are met.

How You Will Contribute:  

• Provide administrative and underwriting support to producers and underwriters.

• Review incoming bond submissions for completeness and accuracy.

• Enter submissions, account information, and bond requests into agency systems.

• Order and review financial, business, and credit information.

• Prepare bond applications, indemnity agreements, and supporting documents.

• Coordinate outstanding underwriting requirements.

• Issue bonds and process invoicing after approval.

• Communicate with clients, obligees, producers, and surety companies.

• Generate status reports and assist with account management.

Skills & Experience to be Successful:

Required

• Experience in insurance, financial services, administration, or a related office environment preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

• Strong data entry and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred

• Bachelor degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, Accounting, or related field.

• Surety, underwriting, brokerage, or agency experience.

• AINS, ARM, CIC, or related designations/coursework.
