Employment Type: Full-Time

Shift: Mon-Fri, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Location: Holy Cross Silver Spring Hospital

Position Purpose

Responsible for obtaining and validating patient information from various sources and to ensure information entered into the electronic medical record is accurate. Performs the scheduling, rescheduling and pre-registration process for all pain management patients.

As a Scheduling Coordinator, you will:

• Gather demographic and insurance information, transcribe referral orders, manage the scheduling work queue and failed fax queue.
• Answer all patient calls and call backs, start a phone call encounter, and message the clinical staff and practitioners as necessary.
• Initiate, evaluate and respond to results of real-time eligibility verification.
• Provide instructions to the patient on visit / procedure preparation; print and mail patient letter and facility fee form when appropriate or email the patient when possible.
• Obtain required referring physician documentation, diagnostics and orders.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• 2+ years of experience within a healthcare office performing scheduling, registration, and office administrative functions (required)
• Familiarity with third party/insurance payers, medical terminology, and ICD-10 and CPT coding (preferred)

Pay Range:

• $19.58 - $28.41 per hour
• Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
