JOB SUMMARY

Under general direction of the Production Supervisor and/or Quality Manager, the Quality Control Technician coordinates the implementation of quality standards and systems, monitors to ensure standards are being met, improves systems, tests in a control environment the characteristics of the product and process, helps troubleshooting problems, ensures compliance with both internal (regional, national managers) and external (industry codes, local, state and federal regulations) customers.

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS

• Comply with Company Safety Policies andProcedures.
• Utilize systems methodology to conduct businessactivities.
• Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of raw materials, in-process materials, environmental samples, finished goods, and samples.
• Complete documentation needed to support testing procedures including data capture forms, equipment logbooks, or inventory forms.
• Identify product quality problems and recommendsolutions.
• Calibrate, validate, and maintain laboratory and QAequipment.
• Follow standards established to carry out troubleshooting, testing, calibration, organization, and project management.
• Reduces color variation in the manufacturing process, quality forms control and databaseentry.
• Perform and document dry and wet tile testing as per the QC plan (XRite checks, AC Ratio, Absorption, TBS, Permeability, Gapping, Stacking, Walkability)
• Monitor testing procedures to ensure that all tests are performed according to established item specifications, standard test methods, or protocols.
• Log testing results into SAP and release finished goods per ControlPlan.
• Reports all product exceptions as per non-conforming materialsprocedures.
• Monitors color consistency and overall quality during extrusion, stacking, and once the product reaches the yard.
• Issue and control color formulas to ensure accuracy on the production floor and color visualstandards.
• Print and verify palletslabels.
• Performs frequent visual inspections of wet side processes and activitiesdaily.
• Performs visual inspection of finished goodsdaily.
• Conducts monthly pallet audits to ensureaccuracy.
• Ensure that lab cleanliness and safety standards aremaintained.
• All other duties asassigned.
• Regular attendance, timeliness, and schedulingflexibility.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS ANDABILITIES

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, equipment manuals, and company manuals and procedures.
• Demonstrate manual dexterity and mechanicalaptitude.
• Good communication skills and ability to read, speak, write English (bilingual Spanishhelpful)
• Ability to observe, identify, deduce and troubleshoot equipmentmalfunctions.
• Quick learner and ability to work under minimalsupervision.
• Math skills and computerskills

EDUCATION AND/OREXPERIENCE

The employee should have thefollowing:

• High School Diploma or equivalent and training or certification in relevant skill ortrade
• 1 - 2 years' experience in a relevantfield
