QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ years of experience in an engine room working on large scale diesel engines.Â
- Completion of all training requirements for the position within designated time period.
- Must hold a QMED/Oiler Endorsement or higher for the flag state of the vessel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Safely and efficiently perform all assigned duties.
- Assist in ensuring that repairs and projects are finished within the scheduled time of completion in order to keep a backlog of work to a minimum.
- Assist in ensuring that equipment failure is kept to a minimum and within contractual limits.
- Assist to ensure entries on permits, isolation tags and logs accurately reflect the current status of equipment.
- Ensure the engineering spaces are kept clean and all equipment/tools are stowed properly.
- Ensure all maintenance operations proceed in a safe manner.
- Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with the preventative maintenance program under the direction of the Chief Engineer or designee.
- Maintain the engine room daily operating logs.
- Perform general maintenance around the engineering spaces; keeping motor room and machinery spaces clean and painted.
- Assist the 3rd Engineer in maintaining all rig power generating equipment and drives and all air, fuel, water, cooling and heating systems.
- Report on parts, tools and supplies needed to maintain the equipment for which one is responsible.
- Assist other crew members as directed by the Chief Engineer, Rig Maintenance Supervisor, Driller or Rig Manager.
- Participate in the development of newly appointed team members.
- Maintain good two-way communication with crew members.
        HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL
- Implement and uphold Noble's safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all operations proceed in a safe manner. Correct and notify responsible parties of any unsafe acts and/or conditions which exist.
- Encourage and motivate personnel to observe safety and environmental policies and all intended and implied requirements of Noble's Management System.
- Responsible for familiarizing and adhering to Noble's Live Safe Code for the purpose of promoting a zero-incident and no-harm workplace.
- Responsible for familiarizing and utilizing Noble's Hazard Identification Tool to manage risk created by various energy sources found in the workplace.
- Attend and actively participate in daily pre-tour and weekly safety meetings.
- Ensure compliance with the requirements established in Noble's Management System.
- Initiate a safety stand down whenever an unplanned hazard or change in the expected results is observed.
- Perform all Safety Critical Tasks as detailed in the HSE Case.
- Incorporate the STOP the job planning process into all tasks, whether working alone or as part of a team.
- Take the initiative to perform emergency duties without specific orders or instruction.
- Develop and implement Job Safety Analysis and prepare hazard assessments as required.
- Responsible for compliance with all government regulations.
