Join IDEXX Laboratories, a global leader in veterinary diagnostics, and play an important role in supporting animal healthcare across Victoria. We are seeking a Casual Courier to join our Melbourne team, working 2 to 4 shifts per week, primarily on weeknights, with occasional weekend work as required. In this customer-facing role, you will be responsible for the timely collection and transportation of veterinary specimens between clinics and our laboratory, ensuring deliveries are completed safely, accurately, and on time. You'll be part of a supportive and collaborative team where reliability, customer service, and attention to detail are highly valued. This is a casual opportunity with the potential to transition to a permanent part-time position following a successful probation period.

Why this role matters

You will play an important part in helping veterinarians deliver timely care to animals by ensuring specimens reach our laboratory efficiently and safely. As one of the first points of contact for our customers, you will represent IDEXX in clinics across Melbourne and surrounding areas, contributing to a positive customer experience while supporting the diagnostic services that help improve animal health outcomes.

In this role:

• You will collect and transport veterinary specimens between customer clinics and the laboratory.
• You will provide outstanding customer service and build positive relationships with veterinary clinic staff.
• You will accurately record collection and delivery information using company-approved mobile applications.
• You will navigate routes efficiently across Greater Melbourne and surrounding areas.
• You will ensure all collections and deliveries are completed safely and within required timeframes.
• You will maintain company vehicles in a clean, safe, and professional condition.
• You will conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
• You will assist with operational and laboratory support tasks when required.
• You will work independently throughout your shift while remaining connected with the wider Melbourne team.
• You will contribute to a positive, collaborative, and customer-focused culture.

What you need to succeed:

• You will hold a current and valid Australian Driver's Licence with a safe driving record.
• You will be available to work 2 to 4 shifts per week, primarily on weeknights, with flexibility to work occasional weekends if required.
• You will have previous courier, delivery driving, rideshare, logistics, transport, or similar driving experience, which will be highly regarded.
• You will have strong geographical knowledge of the Greater Melbourne area and confidence navigating metropolitan and regional routes.
• You will be comfortable using an iPhone and mobile applications to manage pickups, deliveries, and route information.
• You will demonstrate strong time management and organisational skills.
• You will have excellent customer service and communication skills.
• You will be able to work independently, make sound decisions, and seek assistance when required.
• You will be a reliable team player who enjoys contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment.
• You will be physically capable of lifting and carrying specimen transport containers and regularly entering and exiting vehicles throughout your shift.
• You will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance.
