The programÂ
Â
The Youth Engagement volunteer will support the NSW Community Mobilisation Team with the management NSW Youth Advisory Committee and the development of engagement initiatives that champion youth access to the Australian Red Cross.

The opportunityÂ
Â
- Attend monthly meetings with the NSW YAC, supporting CMT to deliver YAC projects.
- Assist the design and consistent implementation of the YAC workplan, building the conditions for effective youth work
- Engage YAC members in line with the organisation of the NSW Youth Engagement Strategy
- Attend and assist with Red Cross events as required (AGM, World Red Cross Day, ANZAC Day, Member Forums).
- Mentor YAC members on their engagement, championing
- Provide advice and support to University Clubs, Clubs and Branches as needed
- Collaborate with YACs in other States/ Territories.
- Work with the state Board and advocate for participation, recognition and support for young people in all relevant activities of Red Cross advice from a youth perspective for Red Cross programs and business functions, particularly those involving young people.
Knowledge Skills and Experience
Â
- Experience working within youth engagement and strategic planning
- Experience driving youth led initiatives
- Experience working with community-based organisations (desirable)
- Experience working with diverse people, including culturally and linguistically diverse people
- At ease working independently or as part of a diverse and geographically dispersed team to share the workload
- Organisational skills including the ability to prioritise tasks and manage commitments
- Knowledge of and interest in the work of Australian Red Cross
- Strong commitment to taking humanitarian action and voluntary service
Application Requirements
- For this role you will be required to undertake a National Police Check, which will be organized through Red Cross.
- Â You will need to provide a recent copy of your CV and provide details for two professional references.
- The role will also require you to hold or apply for a Working With Children Check or Working With Vulnerable People Check depending on your State/Territory. Red Cross can assist you to apply for this
check.
