- 7.6 hours per day for 1 day per week (9:00am – 5:06pm) for 12 weeks.

The program
The People & Culture Division is dedicated to cultivating a safe, inclusive, productive and fulfilling environment where our Australian Red Cross people thrive and belong. This includes the experiences of all Red Cross people including employees, volunteers, and members. Â

The opportunityÂ
Provide university level psychology students an opportunity to gain professional and practical experience in the application of their theoretical knowledge within a workplace context.
Key requirements & skills for the role include:Â
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Ability to take initiative and self-direction
- Research and data analysis skills, forming meaning from data
- Conversational skills and presentation capabilities
- Computer skills, including MS suite (Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel)
The impactÂ
Â
The student placement roles will support the following projects:
Belonging Survey Review (1 student)Â
In this project, students will interpret and collate data from the Australian Red Cross Belonging Survey, with the aim of sharing meaning from data.Â
Youth Engagement Research (2 students)
In this project, students will research what meaningful youth engagement looks like in practice. The research should draw on academic literature and investigate current practices and strategies across NGOs, the Red Cross Red Crescent Network, and other relevant sectors. Outputs of the research may include a written report, a presentation of findings, or practical tools and resources.
Reward & Recognition Research (2 students)
In this project, students will research effective reward and recognition frameworks that are aligned with organisational values and behaviours. Outputs of the research may include a written report, a presentation of findings, or practical tools and resources.
Application requirements
- For this role you will be required to undertake a National Police Check, which will be organised through Red Cross.Â
- Â You will need to provide a recent copy of your CV
- The role will also require you to hold or apply for a Working With Children Check or Working With Vulnerable People Check depending on your State/Territory. Red Cross can assist you in applying for this check.
