Red Cross Shop Volunteer - Newtown NSW

Why choose to volunteer in a Red Cross Shop?

Our Shops offer a great range of pre-loved fashion, affordable style, and sustainable shopping. If you are passionate about fashion and fashion sustainability, then this volunteer role could be the perfect fit for you!

By volunteering with us, you'll connect with your community, support sustainable fashion practices, and help make a positive impact through the work of Red Cross.

Volunteers are at the heart of our stores so we're seeking people who can commit to a regular weekly shift of 3 to 4 hours. If you're available on Saturday afternoons or during the day on Sunday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, we'd be especially keen to hear from you!

What does a typical day look like in a Shop?

As part of your regular shift each week, you'll help keep our shop running smoothly by:

• Welcoming customers and creating a positive shopping experience

• Processing sales through the point of sale system, including cash and EFTPOS transactions

• Sorting, preparing and pricing quality pre-loved clothing and accessories

• Creating stylish and eye-catching displays that showcase fashion and inspire shoppers

• Maintaining a clean, organised and inviting store environment

Could this volunteer role be right for you?

We're looking for people who:

• Have an interest in fashion, sustainable shopping, or giving pre-loved items a second life
• Can commit to a regular weekly shift
• Are friendly, positive and approachable
• Communicate with others in a respectful and kind manner
• Enjoy working as part of a team
• Are at least 15 years of age

What’s the application process?

• No need to upload a resume – just tell us why you’re interested in the role

• Completing a National Police check (paid for by Red Cross)
• You will also be required to complete an Induction into our organisation and Retail program
