Job Description Summary

Consulting Services, a part of GE Vernova, has offices in multiple countries and offers our global clients (external & internal GE) a wide range of solutions across the entire spectrum of power generation, delivery, and utilization. Our Power Systems Engineering team utilizes their deep knowledge of connected power grid planning, design, operation, and life-cycle management, to offer customized solutions to our global clients. Our Power Economics team offers analyses focused on the understanding and the study of the financial and physical operation of the electric power systems including generation and grid planning, system optimization, asset valuation, competitive power markets and energy policy implications. Over 700 entities worldwide use our Concorda Suite of software tools to assess the economics, performance, and reliability of interconnected power systems. We also offer a full range of education courses through our Power Systems Engineering Course.
As a member of the GE Vernova Consulting Services Grid Integration and Stability team, the successful candidate will be an active contributor to the GE Vernova business initiatives related to power systems and power electronics equipment and services and also contribute to solve the complex technical issues faced by power industry working with external customers.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Perform technical analysis related to power electronic and power systems control of renewable generation, battery energy storage systems, large industrial drives, HVDC and FACTS.
Supportcustomerswithpowersystemsengineeringexpertise;includingmodeling,analysis,equipmentdesign andspecification,andfailuremodeanalysis
Create,modifyandparametrizesimulationmodelsrepresentingelectricalequipmentlike gas turbines,windturbines,solarinverters,batterystorage and their controls in widely used power system simulation software like PSS/E, PSCAD, DIgSILENT Power Factory, PSLF etc.
Performpowersystemplanning studies, renewable integration studies, feasibility studies for HVDC and FACTS, Energy Storage etc. for large utility systems
Perform Grid Code Compliance studies and field testing for connection of generation equipment (Conventional or renewable) to Grid
Effectivelycommunicateresults tobothinternal andexternalcustomers bypreparingdetailedwrittenreportsorpresentationsdescribinganalysesperformed,solutionsdeveloped, andcustomervaluepropositions
Enhanceindustryknowledgeandpresenttechnicalcontentinregionalforumsandconferences;serveas athoughtleader inindustryactivities
Activelyparticipate in aworkingenvironmentwhereteamwork,quality,customerservice andinnovationareprized

Required Qualifications

Master’sDegreeinelectricalengineering orelectricpowerengineering
Minimum 5years ofIndustryexperienceperformingtransientanalysisusingsimulationtoolslikeATP/EMTP,PSCAD/EMTDCandEMTP-RV and/Or steadystateanddynamicanalysisusinglargedatabasesimulationtoolslikePSS/E,PowerFactory,PSLF
Minimum 2year ofExperiencewiththeuseandapplication ofcommonprogramminglanguages(e.g.Python,FORTRAN, C, C++MATLAB)
Knowledge of Grid code compliance requirements for interconnection of generation equipment to the Grid sysrem
Willingness totravel tosupportprojectwork (up to 20%)
