Senior Accountant

Wyma Europe s.r.o. is a global leader in the design and supply of advanced solutions for the post-harvest handling and processing of fresh vegetables. As part of our continued growth, we are strengthening our finance team and are looking for an experiencedSenior Accountant to join us.

This is a key role within our finance function, with responsibility for the day-to-day accounting operations, tax compliance and financial reporting of the company. You will work closely with colleagues across the finance team and cooperate with external auditors, tax advisors and other stakeholders in the Czech Republic and internationally.

We are looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented finance professional who takes ownership, understands the bigger picture and is comfortable working independently in an international business environment.

Your key responsibilities:

• Take ownership of the company’s full accounting agenda, ensuring accurate, complete and timely accounting records
• Ensure compliance with applicable Czech accounting standards and tax legislation
• Prepare and review monthly Profit & Loss Statements and Balance Sheets
• Support the preparation of the monthly management reporting package
• Maintain accurate VAT records and take responsibility for the preparation and timely filing of Czech VAT returns
• Prepare and submit related statutory tax reports, including VAT Control Statements, EC Sales Lists and Intrastat
• Coordinate with external tax advisors regarding VAT and corporate income tax compliance in foreign jurisdictions
• Support the preparation of year-end closing and statutory financial statements
• Cooperate with external auditors, tax advisors and other financial stakeholders in the Czech Republic and abroad
• Perform internal accounting and financial controls and identify potential discrepancies or areas for improvement
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting and reporting processes
• Provide accounting and financial support to the wider business and finance team as required

What we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced accounting professional who combines strong technical expertise with a proactive and responsible approach.

You will ideally have:

• At least5 years of relevant experience in a Senior Accountant, Accountant or similar role
• Excellent knowledge ofaccounting principles and practices
• Strong knowledge ofCzech tax legislation, particularly VAT and corporate income tax
• Experience withmonthly closing, financial reporting and statutory financial statements
• Knowledge ofIFRS 
• Previous experience in amanufacturing environment – highly advantageous
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work confidently with financial data
• Excellent attention to detail and a structured approach to identifying discrepancies and understanding the underlying relationships in financial data
• Strong organisational skills and the ability toprioritise and meet deadlines, including during busy closing periods
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to cooperate with both internal and external stakeholders
• Advanced English, both written and spoken, as English will be used on a daily basis
• A high level ofownership, reliability and professional integrity
• The ability to work independently while also being a collaborative member of an international finance team
