About Theseus
GPS Denied Navigation for Drones
Tech
Our software combines VIO with feature matching to output a robust location estimation (there are many fundamental similarities between parts of our stack and SLAM). Everything needs to run on embedded (ARM) processors and be very lightweight.
The role
**Who we are**Theseus is a defense technology company building positioning to solve navigation for the next 10 million drones. Our products are already being used in real operational environments today. We’re a small team with high ownership and accountability, and we’re looking for engineers who want to move fast, build against real-world constraints, and see their work deployed in the field.**The role**We’re seeking a Robotics Software Engineer to help build the core of our autonomy stack. You’ll work on visual positioning systems that improve the accuracy, robustness, and reliability of Theseus’ products across sensors, onboard compute, and drone platforms. You will:* Design and iterate on visual localization and positioning algorithms* Build tooling and data pipelines that accelerate model and algorithm development* Contribute to architecture decisions across the sensor fusion stack* Test, debug, and iterate on your work in real-world conditions**You should have the following*** Experience with SLAM, VIO, factor graphs, EKFs, state estimation or other relevant robotics skills through work or in depth personal projects* Strong track record of ownership: you’ve built real systems, deployed them, tested them in the real world, and can clearly explain the technical tradeoffs you made* Strong robotics fundamentals, including frames, poses, calibration, estimation, and uncertainty* Strong Python/C++ skills**Nice to have*** Experience taking research software to production on edge hardware* Experience deploying software onto robots, drones, or other real-world hardware systems
