Healthcare is complex, healthcare in the home even more so. Part of the reason in-home care isn't widespread is because it's not economical without a heavy technological component. Providing economical in-home care is a series of optimization problems. How do you assign visits to the lowest cost health professional qualified for a visit? How do you account for different license requirements across states? How do you ensure visits that require refrigerated supplies are completed earlier in the day? Solving this 3-dimensional tradeoff between time, geography, and licensure is what we do day-in and day-out.

# **About Us**Axle Health builds AI scheduling and workforce management software to empower in-home healthcare providers to deliver exceptional, personalized care right where patients feel most comfortable—at home.Some of the biggest providers in the country use our software (like Cityblock Health and U Penn Health System) to improve the utilization of their field teams by 17%+, and automate the operational burden of scheduling and dispatching.Our platform includes proprietary logistics algorithms to optimize scheduling, a mobile app for field staff, an operations dashboard for office teams, engagement and booking tools for patients, and a wide range of integrations and external APIs for modular access.We’re a team of top-tier engineers and operators, backed by $14m from top investors such as Y Combinator, Pear VC, and F-Prime, applying our intellect and logistics experience to upend how home healthcare is delivered.# **About You, the Role****We're looking for a growth-stage ready Senior Software Engineer** to join our Healthcare Interoperability team, responsible for connecting our best in class logistics platform into users’ daily workflows. This role will design and implement high leverage technical processes and systems.**Our ideal candidate** can lead initiatives in different domains and is fueled by a passion for tackling complex problems head-on. Whether you've honed your expertise designing web-scale systems at large companies, or scaling startups from 0 to 1, we want to hear your story. We do not monitor YC applications, please apply directly on our website to be considered for this position: [**https://www.axlehealth.com/careers**](https://www.axlehealth.com/careers)# What you'll do:* Design and implement Electronic Health Record (EHR) integrations* Architect high volume systems that will support hundreds of thousands of patients* Develop and evolve API integrations within the Axle Heath ecosystem* Collaborate with and lead other engineers to build performant, scaleable, and secure systems* Mentor junior engineers to further their career trajectories* Write documentation to scale team knowledge within and without the interoperability team# Required skills and experience:* Bachelor's degree* 5-7+ years of software engineering experience* Strong communication skills to explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders* Proven ability to conduct effective code reviews* Expertise building backend systems in Node + TypeScript (1-2 years)* Hands on experience working with SQL databases* Experience working in fast paced, high growth startup environments with a desire to build* Demonstrated ability to self-learn and quickly adapt to new technologies# Nice to have:* Experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and/or healthcare interoperability (FHIR / HL7)* Working knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps, and build systems* Track record of mentoring junior engineers# Tools You May Use* ExpressJS + TypeScript* GraphQL + React + React Native* PostgresSQL* AWS* Datadog* Git / Github / Graphite* Django + Python3# **What We Offer**In addition to offering a competitive salary and equity, we want to ensure every team member has the tools they need to work to the best of their ability.
