Our approach is building robot foundation models to enable off the shelf robots to do these tasks autonomously. To train these models, we're building our own teleoperation system in house. Finally, there's a whole stack of classical robotics and integration work to make our systems work in the real world . Learning constantly and keeping up with SOTA research is one of the pillars of our company's culture.
The role
Note: We will provide a housing stipend but not relocation assistance.**Requirements/Qualifications*** Currently pursuing a degree or recent grad in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.* Has a citizenship/does not require any immigration or visa assistance.* Can commit to a full time internship role.**What You’ll Do*** Design and integrate electrical and mechanical systems.* Work with cutting edge humanoid robots in real deployments.* Rapidly prototype, and iterate based on changing demands.* Collaborate with software and simulation teams to meet their needs.**What We’re Looking For*** Experience with electromechanical systems or robotics.* Excellent mechanical intuition, you understand how things move, fail, and improve.* Experience with hand tools and disassembly, assembly, and documentation of systems.* Experience with Linux based operating systems (ROS 2 especially).* Experience with computer assembly and bandwidth architecture (USB and PCIE standards).* Skills in CAD and embedded systems.* Strong hands-on engineering and troubleshooting ability for both electrical and mechanical systems.* A portfolio and/or an independent project or 2 would be ideal to display real skills and end to end management of a project.* Experience with CAD software specifically Fusion360, KiCAD, and the .urdf format.* Experience with typical humanoid systems (BLDC actuators, CANbus, lithium based batteries).* Understanding of industrial requirements (IP Rating, MTBF).* An understanding of what makes systems reliable and the ability to design for it.**Why This Role*** Direct impact on company results.* Gaining experience with cutting edge systems.* Learn a variety of prototyping methods and end to end project ownership.**Dates*** Start Date: ASAP* End Date: Flexible but expect a standard roughly 3-4 month internship duration
