WRS has immediate openings for aMobileMechanic with at least 5 years of experience in the field. We're looking for a skilled diesel, gas and heavy equipment technician to diagnose and repair equipment in the field. You'll work independently from a fully equipped service truck and help keep our crews and customers moving.

Your Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic problems on heavy equipment, trucks, and light-duty vehicles using diagnostic software, scan tools, multimeters, and pressure gauges.
- Read and interpret fault codes, wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and manufacturer service manuals.
- Observe equipment in operation and listen to its sounds to find the cause of a problem.
- Test and troubleshoot engine, fuel, cooling, charging, starting, and emissions systems (including DPF/DEF aftertreatment).
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance (engine, hydraulic, coolant, transmission, and differential services) on a range of equipment, both in the field and in the shop.
- Take apart components to reach and remove defective parts, and check parts for wear, imperfections, and dimensional changes.
- Repair or replace defective parts, and install special functional and structural parts.
- Adjust functional parts and control instruments to manufacturer specifications.
- Perform brake, suspension, steering, and tire service.
- Lubricate and grease equipment as needed.
- Set up and operate a welder, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
- Test repairs to confirm the equipment works before returning it to service.
- Travel to job sites and customer locations across Washington to perform field repairs.
- Respond to emergency breakdown calls to reduce downtime, including on-call.
- Operate, inspect, and maintain the assigned service truck and its equipment (crane, compressor, generator, welder), and keep it stocked with parts, fluids, and tools.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA and WA L&I/DOSH requirements, and job-site safety rules, including lockout/tagout and PPE.
- Handle, store, and dispose of used fluids, filters, and hazardous materials according to environmental and SDS guidelines.
- Reorder parts from local vendors as needed and keep parts inventory current.
- Complete repair orders for all finished work, listing labor hours and every part used, and keep accurate service records.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Your Experience & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a heavy equipment, diesel, or mobile mechanic (required)
- Strong diagnostic skills, including experience with OEM diagnostic software such as Cat ET, Cummins INSITE
- Working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, drivetrains, and brake systems
- Welding and fabrication skills (MIG/stick) (preferred)
- High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational training in diesel or heavy equipment technology (preferred)
- ASE or OEM certifications (preferred)
- Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record; CDL preferred
- Provides own hand tools; WRS supplies specialty tools and diagnostic equipment
- Able to work on your own in the field, manage your time, and prioritize service calls
- Clear communication and accurate recordkeeping
- Able to lift up to 75 lbs; stand, kneel, crawl, climb, and work in tight spaces for long periods; and work outdoors in all weather conditions, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Available for overtime, travel, and on-call rotation as neede

Pay Range: $45.00-$60.00 Depending on Experience
