JOB SUMMARYÂ
Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Electrician is responsible for maintaining, repairing all existing electrical equipment in production areas and troubleshooting PLC's while ensuring all company safety rules and policies are followed.Â
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSÂ
• Comply with Westlake Safety PoliciesÂ
• Maintain and repair all existing electrical equipment in production areas andÂ
troubleshooting PLC's by utilizing ladder diagrams and schematics.Â
• Utilize troubleshooting techniques to analyze, detect, and determine the nature of a problem, and extent of repairs requiredÂ
• Actively participate in the preventative maintenance programÂ
• Perform Electrical preventative maintenance of electrical control panels and equipment to ensure optimal operation and safety standardsÂ
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and supplies by utilizing lean and 5s principlesÂ
• Follow and enforce company safety policies and procedures always and operate wide variety of manufacturing toolsÂ
• Work with company engineering on electrical upgrade and new equipment installsÂ
• Capable of utilizing mobile equipment: pallet jack, forklift, scissor lift, boom liftÂ
• Execute electrical related inspections and report accordinglyÂ
• Run conduit and electrically terminate wiring in industrial equipment, interpret input output modules, and operate a variety of tools and equipment in a safe mannerÂ
• Must place the upmost importance on working safely, and maintain a safe work environment for self and others, alwaysÂ

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESÂ

• Basic knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC hardware and SoftwareÂ
• Basic knowledge of Siemens PLC hardware and softwareÂ
• Basic knowledge of Gas burner controlsÂ
• Good knowledge of windows Microsoft Office (excel, word, power point, etc.)Â
• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, schematics, and motor controlsÂ
• Team player, reliable and high work integrityÂ
• Good communication skillsÂ
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEÂ
The employee should have the following:Â
• High School Diploma or equivalent and training or certification in relevant skill or tradeÂ
• 1 - 2 years' experience in a relevant fieldÂ
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENTÂ
The employee should possess the ability to:Â
• Working near moving mechanical partsÂ
• Loud noiseÂ
• Exposure to airborne particles within a manufacturing operationÂ
• Lifting heavy materials, up to 50 poundsÂ
• Climb and work occasionally at heightsÂ
• General manufacturing environmentÂ
• May require overtime work as necessaryÂ
• Must be flexible to work any shift and/or weekends as scheduledÂ
• Ability to stoop, bend, walk, stand, sit, reach and climbÂ
• Will be expected to conduct all assigned tasks scheduled by supervisorÂ
• Ability to move or traverse about the facilitiesÂ
• Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in variousÂ
environmental conditionsÂ
• Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and hardhat protection)Â

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US markets. The pay range is based on relevant market data in our lowest and highest geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience, and skillset. Westlake is a total compensation company.
