Kia ora! We're looking for a Treasury Manager to join our high-performing Treasury team in Newmarket on a 9-month fixed-term contract.
Reporting to the Deputy Group Treasurer, you'll play a key role in supporting Heartland Bank's Treasury function and helping fund the Bank's growth. You'll contribute to the management of liquidity, capital, interest rate risk and foreign exchange risk across the New Zealand Banking Group and wider Banking Group, while supporting senior leaders with specialist Treasury insights that inform strategic decision-making.
This is an opportunity for a Treasury professional who enjoys working in an evolving banking environment and wants exposure to a broad range of Treasury activities, from funding and liquidity management through to regulatory reporting, securitisation and market risk.
What you'll do
- Manage Heartland Bank's daily cash position, ensuring liquidity requirements are met.
- Oversee regulatory liquidity reporting, including compliance with RBNZ BS13 requirements.
- Monitor funding performance and liquidity forecasts, providing insights to senior management.
- Support the management of liquidity, capital, interest rate risk and FX risk within approved risk appetite settings.
- Drive liquidity stress testing and contribute to Heartland's ongoing regulatory obligations.
- Assist with the preparation and review of ALCO, GALCO and Board reporting.
- Support rating agency reporting and treasury-related audit requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with banking counterparties, dealers, trustees, funding providers and other external stakeholders.
- Support securitisation programmes, funding initiatives and treasury transactions.
Does this sound like you?
With at least five years' Treasury experience, including deep exposure within a banking or financial services environment, you thrive in a fast paced environment.
You know your way around:
- Liquidity management, funding, treasury operations and regulatory reporting.
- Capital management, market risk, interest rate risk and foreign exchange risk management.
- Financial markets, including debt and derivative instruments.
- Analysis, with the ability to interpret complex financial information and provide meaningful insights.
You’ll likely have a qualification related to finance, economics, or quantitative analysis. CA, CFA or FRM qualifications will be highly regarded.
