Wireless Installer Technician
Pay:$18 – $22 per hour, plus bonus opportunity
Location:Near Albany, NY (field-based)
Employment Type:Full-Time, Temporary to Hire

The Opportunity

Our client, an established regional internet service provider, is growing its field team and is hiring entry- to mid-level technicians. You'll bring high-speed internet to homes and businesses through fixed wireless service, offering customers a dependable alternative to traditional providers. If you'd rather be out in the field solving problems than stuck behind a desk, and you enjoy mixing technology with face-to-face customer interaction, this could be a great fit.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Installing fixed wireless internet service at residential and commercial customer sites
  • Making service visits and troubleshooting connection issues, and fixing them rather than just spotting them
  • Maintaining existing customer equipment and site infrastructure
  • Connecting customer computers and devices to the network
  • Working at heights from ladders and lifts using fall protection equipment

What You Bring

  • Understanding of basic computer networking (TCP/IP) and how devices get online
  • Familiarity with basic residential broadband routers
  • Knowledge of residential building pathways for running cable and equipment
  • Ability to work at heights with a personal fall arrest system
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and to meet the ladder weight limits required by OSHA standards
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to pass a background check
  • Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills
  • A self-motivated, professional, get-it-done attitude
  • Flexibility to work full-time hours, plus overtime or extra hours when projects require
