Wireless Infrastructure Technician
Pay:$42,000 – $60,000 per year, plus bonus opportunity
Location:Near Albany, NY (field-based)
Employment Type:Full-Time, Temporary to Hire

The Opportunity

Our client, a well-established internet provider, is expanding its operations team and is looking for entry- to mid-level technicians to help connect homes and businesses with fixed wireless internet. You'll be out in the community every day, setting up service, keeping customers online, and looking after the equipment that makes it all work. It's a hands-on job for someone who likes technology, enjoys meeting people, and would rather be on the move than at a desk.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Setting up residential and commercial customers with fixed wireless internet service
  • Visiting customers to diagnose and solve connectivity problems, and following each issue through to a fix
  • Looking after existing customer equipment and site infrastructure
  • Working from ladders and lifts, using proper fall protection

What You Bring

  • A basic grasp of computer networking (TCP/IP) and of getting computers online
  • Familiarity with standard residential broadband routers
  • Knowledge of how cable and equipment are routed through residential buildings
  • Physical fitness for working at height with a personal fall arrest system
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and to meet OSHA ladder weight limits
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to pass a background check
  • Clear written and verbal communication and good organizational skills
  • A self-driven, professional attitude with a focus on getting the job done
  • Availability for full-time hours, with overtime or extra time as projects demand
