Windows Application Packaging Engineer

About The Job:

• Client is seeking an experienced Windows Application Packaging Engineer for a six-month contract focused on accelerating the migration of enterprise application management from Microsoft SCCM to Microsoft Intune.
• This role will be primarily responsible for the shift and lift, remediation, testing, and migration of existing Windows application packages into Intune, leveraging strong PowerShell scripting and application packaging expertise.
• The ideal candidate will be highly self-directed, comfortable working independently against defined standards and priorities, and experienced in producing high-quality technical documentation.
• Packages will be expected to undergo peer review prior to promotion into production, requiring a disciplined approach to scripting, testing, documentation, and quality assurance.
• As primary migration objectives are completed, this individual may also assist with the review, remediation, and cleanup of the existing Intune Windows application portfolio.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience with Windows application packaging, deployment, and enterprise endpoint management.
• Hands-on experience migrating and deploying Windows applications from Microsoft SCCM/MECM to Microsoft Intune.
• Strong expertise packaging and remediating MSI, EXE, and Win32 applications for Intune deployment.
• Advanced PowerShell scripting skills for application installation, detection, remediation, and automation. Power shell deployment toolkit a plus.
• Experience developing and validating Intune detection rules, requirement rules, dependencies, supersedence and deployment configurations.
• Proven ability to test, troubleshoot, and remediate application packages prior to production deployment.
• Comfortable working within a peer-review / quality assurance process, incorporating feedback before production promotion.
• Strong technical documentation skills, including documenting packaging standards, installation logic, testing results, dependencies, and remediation steps, install switches etc.
• Ability to work independently against established priorities and standards, with experience reviewing and cleaning up existing Intune application portfolios.

What we expect of you:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience.
• 7+ years of experience designing, implementing, and engineering modern Windows end-user computing environments.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune, Windows, VDI, and cloud-based endpoint management solutions.
• Demonstrated experience supporting the modernization and transformation of enterprise Windows environments.
• Ability to mentor, guide, and collaborate with junior engineers, both locally and remotely.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong time-management skills with the ability to balance quality, business priorities, and delivery timelines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-friendly language.
• Strong understanding of IT security principles, endpoint security concepts, and industry best practices.
• Ability to work effectively across engineering, architecture, security, infrastructure, and operational teams to deliver scalable technology solutions.
