Role name: Enterprise Solution Architect – Windchill
Work Location: Shelton, CT. Wilmington, MA. Greenville, CS. (Remote)
Windchill Solution Architect (15+ Years Experience)
Key Responsibilities
1. Enterprise Architecture & Strategy
- Define and own the target-state PLM architecture aligned with enterprise digital transformation goals
- Establish architecture principles, standards, and governance frameworks for PLM
- Develop and manage a multi-year PLM roadmap and deployment strategy
- Aligning with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and data governance teams
2. End-to-End Technical Leadership
- Act as the technical authority for the entire PLM program across:
- Windchill implementation
- CAD integrations
- ERP integrations
- Legacy data migration
- Lead architecture across multiple workstreams, vendors, and system integrators
- Identify and mitigate technical risks, dependencies, and constraints
3. Solution Design & Integration
- Architect robust integration solutions between Windchill and:
- CAD tools (Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor)
- ERP system
- Enterprise platforms (ThingWorx, Navigate)
- Define API strategy, middleware architecture, and integration patterns (REST, OData, event-driven)
- Ensure alignment with enterprise integration frameworks (ESB/iPaaS/microservices)
4. Data Migration & Governance
- Define and lead the enterprise data migration strategy, including:
- Legacy system assessment and rationalization
- Data cleansing, enrichment, and harmonization
- Migration tooling (WBM, ETL tools)
- Establish data governance models, master data standards, and quality KPIs
- Ensure data integrity, traceability, and compliance across systems
5. Delivery, DevOps & Environment Strategy
- Define environment strategy (DEV, QA, UAT, PROD) and deployment models
- Establish CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for Windchill deployments
8. Program Execution & Support
- Oversee UAT, cutover planning, go-live, and hypercare support
- Ensure delivery meets timeline, budget, and quality objectives
- Drive continuous optimization and adoption post go-live
Required Qualifications-
Experience
- 15+ years of experience in PLM solutions
- 10+ years of hands-on experience with PTC Windchill architecture and implementation
- Proven track record of leading at least 2 large-scale, greenfield PLM transformation programs
- Has prior experience defining end to end data migration strategy and leading data migration workstream
- Had prior experience in defining CAD & ERP integration strategy with Windchill PLM and leading CAD/ERP integration workstream
Technical Expertise:
- Deep expertise in Windchill modules:
- PDMLink, MPMLink, Change & Configuration Management, BOM Management
- eBOM / mBOM Management, BOM synchronization
- Supplier Management
- Document Management
- CAD data management and visualization
Strong experience with:
- Integration technologies (REST APIs, OData, Info*Engine)
- Middleware platforms for integrations
- Java/J2EE architecture
- Oracle / SQL Server databases
- LDAP/Active Directory
- Apache/Tomcat
- Experience in Windchill clustering, performance tuning, and scalability design
- Oversee data modeling, metadata framework design, and security/ACL architecture.
- Partner with infrastructure teams for sizing, scaling, and performance optimization.
Technical Expertise:
- Engineering degree with 15+ years of experience in PLM with a minimum of 10+ years in PTC Windchill.
- Successfully led at least one (preferably multiple) large-scale greenfield Windchill implementations.
- Strong domain familiarity in engineering, manufacturing, and product development.
- Own Windchill solutioning and guide team including:
- PDMLink, PartLink, MPMLink, and Supplier Management
- Change management, configuration management, BOM management
- CAD data management and visualization
- Architect integrations between Windchill and:
- CAD tools (Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor)
- ERP/MES Systems (SAP, etc.)
- ThingWorx, Navigate, and IoT/digital thread environments
- WBM (Windchill Bulk Migrator)
- Define APIs, middleware flows, and integration patterns.
