Pay/Schedule: $65.00 - $85.00/hour | Rotational field schedule with significant night shift coverage | Travel required across western United States | Weekly pay every Friday
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Wellsite HSE Supervisor for a landmark geothermal well construction project in New Mexico β part of a turnkey geothermal energy program designed to deliver 150 megawatts of clean baseload power supporting data center operations across the state. As the sole on-site HSE authority during your shift, frequently at night with limited immediate support, you will hold full stop-work authority, manage geothermal-specific hazards including high-temperature fluid returns, steam, H2S, and hard-rock drilling conditions, and interface with customer representatives who may have no prior oilfield experience. Candidates from geothermal, mining, or hard rock HSE backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain continuous HSE presence on location including night shift and exercise stop-work authority without hesitation regardless of cost or schedule consequence
- Monitor and verify controls for geothermal-specific hazards including high-temperature returns, steam, H2S, and hard-rock drilling risks across all crews on site
- Verify contractor and service company compliance with HSE requirements including personnel competency, equipment certification, and environmental controls
- Maintain emergency response readiness including medevac plans, gas detection, and breathing apparatus; plan, run, and document emergency drills
- Deliver site orientation for all personnel including non-technical customer representatives and visitors on active drilling locations
Required Qualifications
- 7 or more years of wellsite or field HSE experience with continuous site presence required
- Formal HSE qualification required: NEBOSH, CSP, ASP, CHST, OSHA 30 or equivalent
- Current H2S, emergency response, and incident investigation certifications required
- Demonstrated experience exercising stop-work authority on live operations
- Geothermal, high-temperature, steam, or hard rock site HSE experience strongly preferred
- Dual medic qualification β EMT, paramedic, or remote medical technician β preferred
- Must pass medical and fitness-for-duty requirements for remote field work
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
