Job Description:
Eligibility:Internship opportunities are open exclusively to current third-year degree students who are required to complete an internship or work placement as a mandatory part of their degree program /coursework. Applicants must be returning to their studies following the internship and be able to provide confirmation from their educational institution that the placement forms part of their course requirements.
About the role:
The Information Security Analyst participates in the delivery of the Information Security Vulnerability Management capability and corresponding services within the Digital Security Threat Management department.
 The role’s primary mandate is in the vulnerability management service including management of internal and external scanning processes and tracking and reporting vulnerabilities identified.
What you will do:
- Assist with monitoring, triaging, and tracking security vulnerabilities.
- Support vulnerability scanning activities and validation of scan results.
- Help maintain vulnerability metrics, reports, and dashboards.
- Research emerging vulnerabilities, threats, and industry advisories.
- Assist in assessing vulnerability risk using threat intelligence and exploitability information.
- Support the tracking of critical and zero-day vulnerabilities.
- Contribute to process documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to automate or enhance existing security processes.
What you need to succeed:
- Currently pursuing a degree or diploma in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong interest in cybersecurity and technology.
- Basic understanding of networking, operating systems, and security concepts.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of vulnerability management or threat intelligence concepts.
- Familiarity with CVEs, CVSS, CISA KEV, or security advisories.
- Experience with scripting (Python or PowerShell) is an advantage.
- Exposure to security tools, ServiceNow, cloud technologies, or cybersecurity labs.
- Curious, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
**Interns in this position will work fully on-site at our Waterford office for the duration of their internship. **
