Responsibilities

  • Lead team of Wardrobe Hosts/Hostesses, Tailor and Linen keeper
  • Partner closely with Main Laundry team
  • Oversee the cleanliness and upkeep of Wardrobe, Linen Room and the assigned Officer and crew cabin service by Crew Cabin Cleaner (Custodial Host)
  • Work with Creative Costuming at Walt Disney World as required on upkeep and replacement of all costumes
  • Maintain the inventory of bed linens, towels and costumes according to par level
  • Ensure all maintenance issues are reported and inspects are completed on timely manner
  • Maintain stock lists of all lockers accurately
  • Examine laundered items for repairs and for quality of finish
  • Lead monthly linen inventory
  • Meet all financial budgets within the Wardrobe area, and coordinate with shoreside partners to ensure a smooth operation
  • Lead all aspects of operation of Wardrobe and other related equipment
  • Maintain good understanding of Disney Show Quality when it comes to costuming; maintain the Disney Look standards at all times for ship
  • Supervise the team of Custodians cleaning Officer and crew cabins, ensuring standards are maintained, and inspections are regularly carried out
  • Facilitate department meetings; conduct daily pre-shift and break-out meetings
  • Provide leadership for all direct reports
  • Actively participate in all Castaway Cay job responsibilities associated with position and line of business as advised by DCL leadership
  • Complete additional job responsibilities, as assigned by Disney Cruise Line leadership, based on operational need
  • Follow all company set policies and procedures, along with all maritime and ship rules, regulations and procedures
  • Participate in Emergency Duties as specified in the ship Assembly Plan

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years Housekeeping management with control and inventory experience on ships or a large hotel, within the last 5 years
  • Experience as a seamstress or tailor is required
  • Experience working with Garment Utilization System or a comparable system
  • Excellent knowledge and care of textiles and fabrics.
  • Hospitality or Business Management Diploma or industry related experience
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Programs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experiences in the textile industry a plus
  • Past experience in a laundry/dry cleaning facility a plus
  • Knowledge of Laundry operations, Linen storing/inventory, Costume care a plus
  • Experience Leading a diverse multi-cultural Crew a plus

This is a SHIPBOARD role.

  • Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel
  • Be committed to the position you are applying for at least 2-3 contracts before a transfer or promotion
  • Be willing to follow and perform safety role, emergency duties and/or associated responsibilities as specified in the ship Assembly Plan
  • Be willing and able to uphold the general safety management responsibilities specified in the Safety Management System in areas and operations under their control
  • Be willing to follow and embrace United States Public Health requirements and guidelines as well as Environmentality requirements and Company practices
  • Be willing to share a cabin with other crew members and appreciative of working and living in a multi-cultural environment
  • Be comfortable living in a confined space with strict rules and regulations
  • Adhere to a structured lifestyle, personally and professionally

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (DCL will provide you with documents to obtain this)
  • Complete a pre-employment medical
  • Obtain a criminal background check
  • Bring approved work shoes
