Responsibilities:Â
Commit to being fully onsite for the duration of the 12-month training program to fullyshadow, learn, and gain hands-on experience withthe day-to-day operationsof your assigned project(s)Â Â
Demonstrateunderstanding of training topicsthroughout each phase of the first year,participating fully in performance reviews to ensureknowledge retention and development goals on a 4-monthcadenceÂ
Follow all directions, task assignments and coaching offered byyourdedicatedFutures Program Sponsor (a tenured and experienced superintendent or above)Â
Showcaserequired professional skillsthroughout the PE experience,such as the ability to:Â
Communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally, with a strong focus on professional, audience-appropriate writing and verbalskillsÂ
Organize and manage multiple tasks and priorities at the sametimeÂ
Demonstrate integrity consistently with The HITT Way andour corevaluesÂ
Seek continuous improvement of knowledge and abilities, internally focusing on self-improvement andtakinginitiative Â
Adapt and exercise flexibility within the ever-changing world of construction technology, design, means, andmethodsÂ
Collaborate with people of various backgrounds whilemaintaining relationships with colleagues, clients, subcontractors, andvendorsÂ
Exhibit conscientiousness by being punctual, engaged, and respectful ofothersÂ
Master required job-specific and technical skillsin order to promote to an assistant superintendent or assistant project manager following the 12-month training program including, butnot limited to, the ability to:Â Â
Set up andmaintain jobsite office and all jobsite records, including project directory,construction documents,subcontractor directory,daily reports,submittal logs, RFI logs, subcontractor correspondence, etc.Â
Make updates to as-built drawings asdirected and interpret basic coordinationdrawingsÂ
Direct installation of building and site protection, including signage and postings, andidentify itemsrequired to “make safe” prior todemolitionÂ
Assist inspecific construction tasks asdirectedÂ
Participate in site inspections to ensure HITT’s expectations for quality and workmanship aremetÂ
Make periodic updates to the project schedule asdirectedÂ
Complete basic material take-offs, place supplier orders, and receive delivery ofmaterialsÂ
Assist thesuperintendent in the use of survey and layoutinstrumentsÂ
Be able to interpret basic tests and reports (air balance, soils report, concrete test)Â
Set up and run a subcontractorforemen’s meeting when directed by theSuperintendentÂ
Understand cost implications and consequences associated with specific construction tasks at various stages of aprojectÂ
Assist Project Managers with logistical tasks, includingbudgeting and client management, asneededÂ
Assist in the implementation of HITT’s Corporate Safety Program byconducting weekly safety meetings,toolbox talks, andcompletingall required safety reports whendirectedÂ
Required to commute to a jobsite within a 30–40-mile radius of their assigned office locationÂ
Qualifications:Â
High school diplomarequiredÂ
Military experience or an accredited Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or Business is strongly preferredÂ
Previous experience on commercial job sites is stronglypreferredÂ
Passion for construction industry and on-site workÂ
Ability to learn sector- and project-specific software systems, including but not limited to: Microsoft Office 365 (Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.),ProCore, Adobe Suite,BlueBeam, and JD Edwards softwaresuiteÂ
Ability to walk and/or stand forlong periods oftimeÂ
Ability tolift up to50lbs
In accordance with the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunity Act, section RCW 49.58.110, the base salary range for this position is:
$77,000.00 - $77,000.00Compensation in other cities and states may vary. HITT Contracting offers a competitive total benefits and compensation package including performance-based bonuses, premium health care coverage including vision and dental, employer-matched 401(k), wellness reimbursement program, paid holidays and time-off, and other voluntary benefits and leave types. The determination of salary is based on the candidate’s individual professional experience, qualifications, education, skills, and training.
