Project Description

Tanzania is seeking experienced STEM graduates and individuals with strong computer skills to support vocational training centers across the country.

The Government of Tanzania is working to strengthen vocational and technical education for its rapidly growing youth population. The Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) oversees the national system, operating training centers, developing vocational teachers, and aligning programs with labor market needs. However, the demand for practical, job-ready skills exceeds the current capacity of training institutions. Across Tanzania, more than 80 VETA schools offer courses ranging from one month to three years, but many centers face gaps in up-to-date STEM instruction, digital skills training, and modern teaching resources. To meet labor market demands and equip young people for emerging industries, Tanzania is seeking external support to help enhance curricula, strengthen instruction, and expand access to high-quality technical training.

As a Vocational School STEM Education Trainer, you will collaborate with the vocational center staff to improve the quality and relevance of STEM training. You’ll bring creativity and innovative teaching approaches to strengthen youth engagement and employment outcomes. You will inspire students to build confidence and expand their digital literacy skills, including robotics and artificial intelligence (AI).
