We are seeking a highly specialized VMware & Cyber Recovery Consultant / Architect to lead a 10-week modernization project. This engagement focuses on modernizing a legacy Site Recovery Manager (SRM) environment to VMware Live Recovery, integrating an AWS-backed cyber vault, and implementing advanced network-security protocols.
Due to the unique combination of skills required, we are open to either one multi-faceted specialist or a strategic combination of resources split across architecture, network security, and data protection.
Role Overview
• Anticipated Start Date: January 1, 2027
• Duration: 10 Weeks
• Work Type: Predominantly Implementation & Engineering with foundational Architecture design
Core Responsibilities
• Environment Modernization: Migrate and modernize a legacy VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) environment to VMware Live Recovery.
• Cyber Resiliency & Vaulting: Architect and implement an AWS-backed cyber-resiliency vault to protect critical financial data.
• Network Security Integration: Deploy vDefend / vShield-related network-security integrations. Establish east-west firewalling and secure all traffic replication between the on-premises environment and the AWS destination.
• Solution Architecture: Workshops and Documentation
Required Skills & Qualifications
Candidates must possess hands-on, verifiable experience in the following domains:
VMware & Recovery
• VMware Live Recovery (Implementation and optimization)
• Legacy VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM)
• Strong virtualization architecture background
Network Security
• VMware vDefend and/or vShield
• East-west firewalling configuration
• Hybrid-cloud traffic protection and secure tunneling
Cloud & Cyber Resiliency
• AWS Integration (Storage, networking, and replication destination management)
• Cyber-vault implementation and cyber-resiliency playbooks
