Summary
VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Architect / Engineer responsible for designing, deploying, upgrading, and migrating enterprise VCF environments. This is a hands-on role requiring strong VMware, cloud, networking, storage, disaster recovery, and integration expertise.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement VMware Cloud Foundation 9 environments.
• Assess existing VMware infrastructure and develop migration and upgrade strategies.
• Lead VCF deployment, configuration, upgrades, troubleshooting, and validation.
• Plan and execute VMware and workload migrations, including dependency discovery and post-migration validation.
• Validate integrations across networking, storage, backup, replication, DR, and cloud platforms.
• Support Azure and AWS hybrid-cloud integrations.
• Develop architecture documentation, migration plans, runbooks, and rollback procedures.
• Provide technical leadership to customers and engineering teams.

• 8+ years of VMware/data center engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with VCF, vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, NSX, and SDDC Manager.
• Proven experience migrating existing VMware environments to VCF, including workload discovery, dependency mapping, migration planning, and execution.
• Experience with large-scale infrastructure and workload migrations with minimal disruption.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture, hybrid cloud, and VMware-to-cloud integrations.
• Experience integrating VMware with Microsoft Azure, AWS, enterprise storage, backup/DR, networking, and security platforms.
• Strong knowledge of SAN/NAS, replication, disaster recovery, and enterprise networking.
• Experience troubleshooting complex VMware, cloud, migration, and third-party integration issues.
• Strong architecture, documentation, and customer-facing communication skills.

• VMware/VCF certifications.
• Azure or AWS certifications.
• Experience with synchronous/asynchronous replication and RPO/RTO.
• Government or regulated-environment experience.
• Large-scale data center modernization experience.
