RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with planning and producing video content for Miami Waterkeeper’s social media, website, campaigns, events, and other communications.
- Participate in video shoots, including camera operation, framing, lighting, and capturing b-roll.
- Assist with organizing and managing video footage and digital files.
- Edit short-form and longer-form video content for digital platforms.
- Assist with basic motion graphics, animations, captions, transitions, and other post-production elements as needed.
- Support video production in the field, including documenting Miami Waterkeeper programs, events, advocacy efforts, scientific work, and South Florida’s natural environment.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager and other team members to develop creative concepts and tell compelling stories through video.
- Help adapt video content for different digital platforms and audiences.
- Contribute creative ideas and stay informed about current video and social media trends.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Basic understanding of video production, filmmaking, or visual storytelling.
- Interest in environmental storytelling, digital media, filmmaking, or a related creative field.
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Ability to provide your own computer for editing and other production work.
- Availability for approximately 10 hours per week through December 2026.
Desired skills and experience:
- Experience using Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve.
- Basic camera operation experience.
- Photography experience.
- Video editing experience.
- Familiarity with short-form video and social media content.
- Experience with animation, motion graphics, or Adobe After Effects is a plus, but not required.
WHAT YOU’LL GAIN

- Video production from concept through final edit.
- Camera operation and field production.

- Video editing and post-production.
- Producing content for social media and other digital platforms.
- Working within a professional creative and marketing team.
- Building a portfolio of publicly shared work for a nonprofit organization.
- Using video to communicate science, environmental issues, advocacy, and community stories to broad audiences.
Miami Waterkeeper will provide camera and video production equipment for the role. Interns may include completed Miami Waterkeeper projects in their personal portfolios.

Location: Miami, Florida
Schedule: 10 hours per week
Term: Through December 2026, with the possibility of extension
Compensation: Unpaid internship
