Position Description: Video Teleconferencing (VTC) Specialist
1. Position Overview
The Video Teleconferencing (VTC) Specialist provides dedicated audio/visual (AV) engineering, operational support, and maintenance for command-wide C4I multimedia systems. This position ensures high-availability connectivity, seamless event execution, and continuous maintenance across classified and unclassified VTC suites, command conference rooms, and VIP briefing environments.

3. Core Responsibilities & Operational Duties
AV & VTC Operations
- Sets up, operates, and troubleshoots audio/visual (AV) equipment and Video Teleconferencing (VTC) suites across classified (SIPRNet) and unclassified (NIPRNet) environments.
- Monitors daily VTC call scheduling, bridging, and network connectivity to prevent mission disruption.
- Performs pre-conference testing, in-conference monitoring, user assistance, and real-time captioning integration for scheduled and unscheduled events.
- Delivers operational AV support across command facilities, including 13 supported conference rooms, 2 training rooms, and 15 VIP offices with integrated AV hardware.
Preventative Maintenance & Sustainment
- Conducts routine quarterly Preventative Maintenance (PM) inspections across all designated room AV systems.
- Authors and maintains complete Preventative Maintenance (PM) Documentation .
- Diagnoses hardware or software defects, coordinates with vendors for warranty repairs, and completes After Action Reports (AAR) for mission-critical outages pursuant.
Operational Documentation & Reporting
- Authors, maintains, and enforces standard VTC Operating Instructions in compliance.
- Tracks operational availability and metrics, delivering the weekly VTC Status & Metrics Report .
- Evaluates system performance and contributes to annual AV/VTC Equipment Upgrade Recommendations.
4. Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- Education & Experience: Minimum of 5 years of operational experience supporting enterprise AV/VTC hardware, control systems, and bridging infrastructure.
- Required Certification: Active CompTIA Security+ certification (or equivalent DoD 8140 approved baseline credential).
- Security Clearance: Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on operational experience with Crestron control panels, Digital Signal Processors (DSPs), video walls, Cisco VTC endpoints, and Microsoft Teams/GVS collaboration technologies.
