Position: Video Editor — Healthcare & Social Content
Salary: Up to NZD2,500/month (depending on experience)
Working Hours & Condition: New Zealand business hours
ROLE OVERVIEW:
We are looking for an experienced remote Video Editor to transform the company's raw footage into engaging, high-performing digital content. The on-site team handles all filming — this role begins once footage is received. You will cut recordings of up to 90 minutes into short-form social content, educational clips, and video sales letters. All content must follow the company’s clinical and compliance approval processes before publishing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Short-Form Social Media Editing
- Edit long-form recordings into short-form videos for Instagram Reels and TikTok — strong hooks, platform-appropriate pacing, vertical reframing, and branded overlays.
- Produce alternative hooks and edits for content testing; translate complex medical information into clear, accessible content without altering its meaning.
Long-Form & VSL Editing
- Edit raw consultation, procedure, and educational recordings into structured, professional videos — removing repetition and unsuitable material while preserving clinical context.
- Edit video sales letters for landing pages — structure footage into a clear narrative covering the patient’s concern, the service, and the next step; produce alternative versions for testing.
- Apply colour correction, audio enhancement, and image stabilisation; add approved intros, calls to action, and branded elements.
Graphics, Captions & Brand Consistency
- Add accurate captions, branded lower thirds, callouts, and supporting graphics; maintain visual consistency across fonts, colours, and transitions.
- Maintain reusable templates for recurring formats; check clinical terminology, practitioner names, and locations for accuracy.
Healthcare Compliance & Approvals
- Follow company’s internal approval processes — no content published before required sign-off; use only approved language for treatments and procedures.
- Identify potentially sensitive or non-compliant content and escalate promptly; handle patient footage and personal details confidentially.
Workflow & Performance
- Manage multiple videos, revisions, and deadlines; maintain clear version control throughout the approval process.
- Review performance data (retention, engagement, conversions) to improve future edits and support creative testing.
Tools & Systems (Non-Negotiable):
- Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro
- After Effects or comparable motion-graphics software
- CapCut or similar short-form editing software
- Professional captioning and transcription tools
- Cloud-based file storage and digital asset management systems
- Project management and content approval tools
- Canva, Instagram, TikTok, and WordPress or comparable CMS
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of professional video editing or post-production experience
- Portfolio demonstrating long-form and short-form editing capability
- Strong understanding of hooks, pacing, storytelling, and audience retention
- Experience editing for Instagram Reels and TikTok; ability to produce VSLs for landing pages
- Strong audio cleanup, colour correction, captioning, and export skills
- Ability to edit medical or technical content accurately within compliance frameworks
- Excellent attention to detail, strong written and spoken English, and ability to manage multiple remote projects
- Hardware capable of efficiently processing and exporting high-resolution video
Preferred Skills (Nice To Have):
- Previous experience editing for healthcare, medical, or regulated businesses
- Familiarity with New Zealand healthcare advertising requirements
- Motion graphics and animation experience
- Experience producing paid social media video assets
- Evidence of content that improved audience growth, engagement, or conversion
