Vice President of Finance

MAK Talent is representing a distinguished leader in the hospitality industry, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Finance to join our team in Charleston, SC. This pivotal role is instrumental in steering the financial direction of the company and ensuring the achievement of our financial goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure company meets financial goals, including income, reserves, and accounts receivable.

• Provide insightful recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team, Owners, and Hotel Leadership on debt, accounts, and investment management.

• Collaborate with Operations and other departments to develop financial policies and procedures that align with the company's global strategies and enhance operational efficiency.

• Champion continuous process improvement and automation within the financial domain.

• Prepare regular financial forecasts and annual budgets.

• Direct hotel-based financial functions to ensure compliance with management and reporting requirements.

• Stay updated on hotel operations trends, accounting regulations, financial reporting, and tax matters.

• Foster a culture of teamwork and positive employee relations.

• Manage professional development and performance feedback for team members.

• Oversee the year-end audit process.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.

• 10+ years of progressive finance experience.

• Hospitality industry experience is preferred.

• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and internal controls.

• Proficiency in GAAP, modified cash basis, and cash basis accounting.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate and prioritize data.

• Self-motivated with the capability to work independently and collaboratively.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment with changing priorities.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.

• Flexibility to work extended hours during month-end and peak periods as needed.
