Position Overview:
The Vice President of Maintenance is responsible for developing and leading Mediacom’s enterprise maintenance strategy across all broadband and cable operations. This role partners closely with regional operations leaders to establish performance standards, drive accountability through operational metrics, improve network reliability, and ensure consistent execution of maintenance best practices across the organization.
The Vice President serves as the corporate subject matter expert for network maintenance, plant performance, service reliability, outage reduction, preventive maintenance programs, and operational excellence initiatives. This position ensures alignment between corporate objectives and regional execution while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, safety, accountability, and customer-focused service delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute Mediacom’s enterprise maintenance strategy in support of broadband, video, voice, and commercial service objectives.
- Establish enterprise standards, policies, procedures, and best practices for maintenance operations across all regions.
- Partner with Regional Vice Presidents and local operations leadership to drive operational consistency, accountability, and performance.
- Lead enterprise initiatives focused on improving network reliability, reducing service interruptions, and enhancing the customer experience.
- Provide executive-level recommendations regarding maintenance investments, resource allocation, technology, and operational priorities.
- Serve as the corporate subject matter expert and strategic advisor on network maintenance and plant performance.
Performance Management and Analytics
- Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive enterprise maintenance scorecard with key performance indicators (KPIs) across all operating regions.
- Establish performance benchmarks, targets, and accountability measures related to:
- Network availability and reliability
- Outage frequency and duration
- Mean Time to Repair (MTTR)
- Repeat trouble call rates
- Plant maintenance compliance
- Preventive maintenance completion
- Leakage performance
- Node health and utilization
- Service reliability
- Commercial service restoration performance
- Analyze regional performance trends and identify opportunities to improve operational results.
- Establish regular performance reporting and operational review processes to ensure visibility and accountability.
- Present performance results, trends, risks, and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Drive data-informed decision making through dashboards, reporting, scorecards, and business reviews.
Regional Partnership and Operational Excellence
- Collaborate with regional operations teams to identify root causes of performance gaps and develop and implement corrective action plans.
- Conduct regular business reviews with regional leadership to evaluate performance against established objectives and enterprise standards.
- Lead enterprise-wide operational improvement initiatives designed to increase efficiency, reduce costs, improve network performance, and enhance service quality.
- Identify, document, and share successful operational models and maintenance best practices across regions.
- Promote consistent execution of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Establish accountability for the adoption and sustained execution of enterprise maintenance standards.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to identify opportunities to improve processes, technology, and operational performance.
Network Maintenance Oversight
- Provide corporate leadership and strategic oversight for HFC, fiber, transport, and access network maintenance programs.
- Support network evolution initiatives, including DOCSIS and fiber expansion and modernization projects.
- Establish enterprise standards for outage response, restoration procedures, emergency preparedness, and network recovery.
- Oversee maintenance quality assurance, auditing, and compliance programs.
- Ensure maintenance operations comply with applicable FCC regulations, company policies, safety requirements, and operating standards.
- Identify emerging network and maintenance risks and develop strategies to proactively address them.
- Partner with engineering, construction, operations, and other functional leaders to ensure maintenance strategies align with network development and modernization initiatives.
Financial and Resource Management
- Develop and manage maintenance-related operating and capital plans in alignment with company objectives.
- Establish financial and operational priorities for maintenance investments and resource allocation.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, optimize staffing and resources, and reduce maintenance expenditures without compromising network reliability or customer service.
- Evaluate technologies, tools, systems, and processes that can improve maintenance efficiency and operational performance.
- Develop and support business cases for strategic maintenance investments, technology enhancements, and infrastructure improvements.
- Monitor maintenance-related expenditures and ensure resources are aligned with established priorities and performance objectives.
Talent Development and Leadership
- Mentor, develop, and provide strategic guidance to maintenance leaders throughout the organization.
- Establish and support succession planning for key maintenance and operational leadership positions.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Promote leadership development and technical excellence across maintenance organizations.
- Establish clear performance expectations and accountability for maintenance leadership.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen organizational capabilities, technical expertise, and leadership effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within broadband, cable, telecommunications, network operations, or a related industry.
- Minimum of 5 years of senior leadership experience managing multi-market, geographically dispersed, or enterprise-level maintenance operations.
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale operational improvement initiatives.
- Proven experience establishing performance standards, KPIs, scorecards, and accountability programs.
- Demonstrated ability to translate operational data into actionable business strategies and measurable performance improvements.
- Strong understanding of:
- HFC and fiber network architecture
- Broadband technologies
- DOCSIS platforms
- Network reliability programs
- Maintenance and restoration processes
- Operational performance management
- Proven track record of improving operational performance through the effective development and use of metrics.
- Strong financial acumen, including experience managing operating and capital budgets.

- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders across a geographically dispersed organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with a leading cable, broadband, telecommunications, or fiber provider.
- Experience implementing enterprise performance scorecards, business intelligence platforms, dashboards, or other operational analytics tools.
- Experience leading geographically dispersed operations and maintenance organizations.
- Experience supporting large-scale network modernization, fiber expansion, or DOCSIS evolution initiatives.
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Business, Telecommunications, or a related field.
