TheVice President, Finance helps shape a finance organization that is being restructured around three connected functions: Financial Planning & Analysis, Functional Support (business-partnering finance) and Business Intelligence. We are hiring for breadth. The right candidate will be a versatile finance leader who can credibly lead any of the three functions and move between them as the organization evolves. Final scope will be confirmed on hire, based on the candidate’s strengths and business needs.

Reporting to the CFO and working alongside a peer Vice President of Finance, this role will lead a team of finance directors, managers and analysts, owning the numbers that drive decisions, from the corporate forecast and liquidity outlook to the reporting that reaches the executive team and the Board. This role will also act as a trusted partner to operating leaders across residential field sales and operations, direct-to-consumer, commercial, merchandising and supply chain.

This role offers a rare mix of scale and build-out: exposure to corporate planning, the Board and liquidity, plus the chance to design a field and sales finance function largely from the ground up.

We offer:

  • Health benefits.
  • Paid time off and holiday pay.
  • Wellness program.
  • Professional development & career advancement opportunities.
  • Lots of perks.

Compensation: $200K - $225K annually plus bonus

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop and retain a high-performing team of finance directors, managers and analysts, with spans designed to grow leaders and develop the next generation of talent.
  • Serve as a core member of the CFO’s leadership team, shaping finance strategy, operating rhythm and priorities.
  • Partner with the peer Vice President of Finance to deliver one integrated view of performance across all functions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in finance processes, tools and data so the team spends less time producing numbers and more time explaining them.
  • Own the corporate forecast, annual operating plan and long-range planning, including the income statement, balance sheet and liquidity / cash forecast.
  • Lead monthly operating reviews and prepare financial content for the senior leadership team and the Board, including margin and EBITDA bridges and variance analysis.
  • Oversee SG&A, payroll and capital expenditure planning, and ensure strong financial discipline across the business.
  • Provide scenario modeling and decision support on pricing, growth investments and operating initiatives.
  • Act as the finance point of contact for operating leaders. Depending on final scope, this may include residential field and sales leadership, commercial, marketing, or merchandising and supply chain.
  • Build out the field and sales finance function: define recurring deliverables, market-level P&Ls, budgets and performance reviews.
  • Deliver insight into sales funnel performance, backlog, incentive plans, marketing spend and return on investment, inventory and open-to-buy.
  • Turn financial analysis into clear, practical recommendations that change how the business operates.
  • Set the strategy and roadmap for enterprise reporting and dashboards, prioritizing work with stakeholders across the business.
  • Establish a single source of truth for key metrics, improve data quality and greatly reduce time spent on data de-bugging.
  • Oversee analytics across sales, operations, inventory, marketing and customer engagement, including funnel analytics and margin, sit-rate and close-rate decompositions.
  • Champion modern analytics tools and practices (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Python) and data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • All other duties assigned or as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 12+ years of progressive finance experience, including at least 3 years in a manager-level role or above.
  • Proven leadership across at least two of Financial Planning & Analysis, business-partnering/operational finance, and business intelligence or analytics, with enough exposure to the third to lead it credibly.
  • Deep experience with corporate forecasting, budgeting and liquidity/cash planning, and with presenting to executive leadership and Boards.
  • Track record as a trusted partner to sales, operations or commercial leaders, turning analysis into action.
  • Experience leading or partnering closely with Business Intelligence and analytics teams, including setting reporting roadmaps and improving data quality.
  • Strong financial modeling skills and working knowledge of modern analytics and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Python).
  • Experience implementing artificial intelligence (AI) tools to automate finance tasks and reporting, improve efficiency, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial information for any audience.
  • Builder’s mindset: comfortable standing up new functions, defining deliverables and leading through organizational change.
  • MBA, CPA or CFA.
  • Experience in the home services industry.
  • Experience in multi-channel businesses, such as residential or field sales, direct-to-consumer, commercial / B2B, retail merchandising or supply chain.
  • Experience leading finance through a reorganization, a period of rapid growth, or a finance transformation.
  • This position is hybrid and will require travel to Chicago for those not local. When in office, the noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
