I. Role Overview

We are seeking a Data Science Manager who combines strong technical depth with proven leadership to join Otis' Digital Transformation (DT) organization. This role will lead a cross-functional team to build reusable AI/ML capabilities that power the Digital Ecosystem IoT Predictive Service & Maintenance offering, and drive AI adoption at scale across multiple Business Units (BUs).

As the primary architecture and solution owner for the team, you will not only manage projects and people, but also personally lead the architecture design and core development of data analytics and AI projects built on the Azure ecosystem. You will also serve as a key driver of the China AI strategy, responsible for shaping and executing the local AI roadmap while ensuring alignment with the global Digital Transformation direction.

II. Key Responsibilities

Business Partnership & Demand Management

  • Engage with business units across China and globally (especially the IoT / Otis One teams) to capture data and AI needs, and translate business problems into actionable technical solutions
  • Act as the bridge between business and technology, managing priorities and stakeholder expectations

Project & People Management

  • Own project planning, project management, and resource/staff allocation to ensure delivery quality and pace
  • Lead and develop a team of Data Scientists, Developers, and a Product Manager, fostering effective collaboration

Strategic Planning

  • Actively contribute to and drive the definition of Otis China's local AI strategy and implementation roadmap, aligning local business priorities with the global DT strategy
  • Serve as a key enabler of China's AI capability building, driving AI adoption at scale across multiple BUs

Technical Architecture & Development

  • Lead the end-to-end architecture design and technology selection for data analytics and AI projects on the Azure ecosystem
  • Personally contribute to the development of key AI/ML modules and build reusable AI capability platforms
  • Own the deployment design for projects on Azure Functions / Containers
  • Build and optimize data analytics and modeling pipelines on Databricks

III. Requirements

Must-Have

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in Data Science / AI, including 3+ years of team management experience
  • Strong expertise in the Azure data & AI ecosystem: Databricks, Azure ML, Azure Functions, Containers (AKS/ACI), etc.
  • Solid end-to-end AI project architecture design capability, able to independently deliver solutions from data to deployment
  • Strong hands-on machine learning / deep learning modeling skills with proficient coding ability (Python / SQL, etc.)
  • Excellent cross-functional communication and project management skills
  • Fluent in both Chinese and English, able to communicate effectively with domestic and global teams as well as management

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with IoT / industrial equipment / Predictive Maintenance projects
  • Experience delivering GenAI / LLM Agent solutions (e.g., RAG, AI Agents)
  • Background in manufacturing or the elevator industry
  • Experience defining and driving a business AI strategy
  • Hands-on experience with MLOps / DataOps engineering practices
