Summary
- The VDI Engineer – Associate supports the administration, monitoring, and operational support of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) platforms, primarily Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Windows 365 Cloud PCs. This role focuses on day‑to‑day execution, incident support, and maintenance of secure, scalable virtual desktop environments.
- The Associate works within established standards and under guidance from senior engineers while developing hands‑on expertise in VDI platforms, Windows OS, and Azure services.
Responsibilities
·Support and administer Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), AVD Remote Apps and Windows 365 Cloud PC environments
·Managed, configured and optimized AVD environments using Nerdio Manager for Enterprise
·Perform routine VDI operational tasks including:
oUser onboarding and offboarding
oSession host management
oImage creation, image updates and refresh cycles
·Monitor VDI platform health, performance, and availability
·Respond to VDI-related incidents, s, and service requests within defined SLAs
·Assist with troubleshooting:
oUser connectivity issues
oPerformance and latency problems
oProfile and session-related issues
·Support Active Directory / Entra ID / Entra Domain Services (EDC) integration for VDI environments
·Assist with FSLogix and OneDrive profile management and troubleshooting
·Follow security standards including access controls and endpoint protection
·Support patching and lifecycle management of VDI session hosts
·Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and configuration records
·Collaborate with Cloud Platform, Network, and End User Computing teams
Skills
·Technical Skills
oHands-on experience with Windows desktop single session and multi session and server operating systems
oHands on experience supporting exposure to Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365 Cloud PCs
oUnderstanding of:
§User profiles and session management
§Active Directory Entra ID and EDS
oFamiliarity with Azure and AWS(compute, networking)
o
oProvide end user support and incident resolution for VDI related issues.

oClear communication and documentation skills
oWillingness to learn cloud VDI technologies
Education / Professional Experience/ Qualifications
·Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
·2–4 years of experience in VDI solution, desktop, EUC, or infrastructure support roles
·Azure Fundamentals or Microsoft desktop certifications preferred
·ITIL certification is a plus
