Job Description

We are looking for an experiencedVB6 Developer to support, maintain, enhance, and modernize legacy business applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience withMicrosoft Visual Basic 6.0, SQL Server, T-SQL, ADO/ADO.NET, and Windows-based applications.

The developer will work closely with business users, QA, database teams, and other developers to troubleshoot existing applications, implement enhancements, resolve production issues, and support application modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot applications built usingVisual Basic 6.0 (VB6).
• Analyze existing legacy code and identify opportunities for enhancements and modernization.
• Develop and maintainSQL Server databases, queries, stored procedures, functions, and views.
• Write and optimizeT-SQL queries and database procedures.
• Work withADO/ADO.NET for database connectivity and application integration.
• Troubleshoot application defects and production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Implement bug fixes, enhancements, and new application functionality.
• Integrate VB6 applications with databases and external/enterprise systems.
• Work withCOM/COM+, DLLs, ActiveX components, and Windows-based applications.
• Support legacy application migration or modernization toVB.NET/.NET where required.
• Participate in requirements gathering, technical analysis, development, testing, and deployment.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, application specifications, and support procedures.
• Collaborate with QA teams to develop test scenarios and validate application changes.
• Provide production support and resolve application issues within established SLAs.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience withVisual Basic 6.0 (VB6).
• StrongSQL Server experience.
• AdvancedT-SQL, stored procedures, functions, and views.
• Experience withADO/ADO.NET.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience supporting and enhancinglegacy applications.
• Knowledge of Windows application development.
• Experience with application development lifecycle, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
