Summary

We're a small team at Apple betting on what comes next. We believe AI will fundamentally change how people interact with their devices β€” and we're looking for software engineers who want to build that future.

We can't say much about what we're building for our customers. What we can say: the problems are genuinely new and the potential reach is enormous.

Beyond the work, we're a collaborative, humble, and curious group that loves learning from each other and building together.

Description

You'll work alongside a tight group of engineers, designers, and researchers to bring AI features from early prototype to product. This is 0-to-1 work β€” from a rough idea on a whiteboard to software running on real devices. You'll have a lot of autonomy in how you get there. You'll grow here. The work is hard enough to demand it and the team is generous enough to support it.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and building iOS-based software that re-imagines and creates new Apple experiences using AI
  • Prototyping rapidly to explore what works β€” then making it real
  • Partnering closely with Design, Machine Learning, and other teams to shape features, not just implement specs
  • Contributing to architecture decisions, absorbing how senior engineers think, and growing your technical voice
  • Investing in the quality and reliability of what you ship β€” through testing, tooling, and infrastructure that gives the team confidence

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of mobile or application development experience, strong CS fundamentals, iOS and Swift experience is a plus β€” but if you're strong in another platform, you'll pick it up here.
  • You've shipped software that people used β€” and you're ready to own bigger pieces end-to-end
  • You've built something from scratch β€” a side project, hackathon, or an app you shipped on your own. You know what it takes to go from zero to something real
  • You figure things out. When you're stuck, you dig in β€” reading the source, building a prototype, or asking the right questions
  • Comfortable with ambiguity β€” you may not have all the answers yet, but you know how to find them
  • You work well with others and communicate clearly across teams
  • You're curious about AI tools and you are already experimenting with how they change the way you write code

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing software for human-AI interaction and/or robotics
  • Experience in one or more iOS/macOS domains: system services, UI frameworks, concurrent application architecture, performance optimization, and machine learning
  • Experience building prototype software for integrated SW/HW user experience development
  • You seek out feedback and learn fast from the people around you
  • Close to the frontier. You're the person your friends come to when a new model drops or a new technique emerges
  • A point of view on where human-AI interaction is headed β€” and the drive to be part of building it
