Utility Worker

POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs custodial, Groundskeeping, basic maintenance, and construction labor related duties and services as needed and assigned by Division Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Performs custodial services such as sweep, mop, clean windows, service restroom, and empty trash containers to maintain interior and exterior of buildings and rehab homes clean;
2. Uses tools, equipment and machinery to maintain landscaping and grounds;
3. Provides assistance and support to maintenance department staff;
4. Performs tasks involving physical labor at construction sites;
5. Maintains tools, machinery, and equipment clean;
6. Other position related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or its equivalent (G.E.D) or one (1) year work experience in the field performing similar functions; must possess a Texas Drivers License and be insurable; must be able to successfully pass a post-offer drug screen and criminal history background check; 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 

Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer and personal services; Knowledgeable of basic maintenance functions; Ability to be on a scheduled after business hours on-call rotation to respond to emergencies as needed; Ability to work outdoors and in inclement weather; Ability to follow verbal and written instructions; Ability to work effectively and efficiently with co-workers; Ability to communication effectively; Ability to identify safety hazards; Ability to multitask effectively. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand for extended periods of time. The employee is required to reach with hands, fingers and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is required to lift up to 50 pounds. The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
