Role summary:
The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration, is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role involves diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and performing preventive maintenance to optimize system performance. The Technician collaborates with management and team members to support operational needs, leads technical training, and manages service calls efficiently. Adherence to company policies, safety standards, and quality service delivery is essential to support business continuity and customer satisfaction.
About the team:
The team provides expert maintenance support across multiple sites, ensuring HVAC and refrigeration systems operate efficiently and comply with safety and environmental standards. They collaborate with management and partners to prioritize tasks, troubleshoot issues, and deliver timely service. Responsible for managing parts inventory and refrigerant levels, the team adheres to industry regulations and company policies. Focused on continuous improvement, they support business objectives by offering reliable solutions and maintaining strong partnerships to address operational and customer needs, ensuring optimal system performance and regulatory compliance throughout all maintenance activities.
What you'll do:

Install, configure, and calibrate HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork, control panels, and building pneumatics.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and minimize downtime.
Maintain and repair refrigeration units such as racks, walk-ins, and reach-ins.
Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local HVAC/R regulations.
Lead and mentor field teams on technical procedures and safety practices.
Manage service calls, coordinate with vendors, and document refrigerant usage per EPA protocols.
Operate company vehicles safely to complete service assignments within assigned regions.

What you'll bring:

Proven experience installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork and control panels.
Ability to interpret layout plans, schematics, and comply with building codes and HVAC/R regulations.
Skilled in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial environments.
Knowledge of EPA 608 refrigerant handling protocols and OSHA safety standards.
Experience leading teams and mentoring technicians on technical and safety procedures.
Strong communication skills to effectively explain technical issues and service outcomes.
Capability to manage service calls, use digital scheduling tools, and maintain accurate documentation.

The hourly wage range for this position is $29.00 - $58.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
Hold and maintains Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle report.• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
