Role summary:
The Staff Software Engineer, Information Security, plays a critical role in designing and implementing secure, scalable software solutions that align with business objectives. The team leads critical initiatives focused on AI security and safety, conducting thorough implementation reviews and setting technical direction. It develops solutions that enhance Walmart’s AI security posture through expertise in development, security technologies, and analytics. Collaboration fosters innovation in automation and cyber engineering, ensuring secure and efficient operations. By integrating advanced security practices and data-driven insights, the team continuously improves system infrastructure and performance, supporting Walmart’s commitment to maintaining reliable and protected information systems across its technology environment.
What you'll do:

Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, analyze, and address technical and business requirements for information security solutions.
Design scalable, modular software architectures that meet security, availability, and performance standards.
Develop, review, and maintain high-quality code using Python and other relevant technologies, ensuring adherence to coding standards.
Implement continuous integration and deployment pipelines to support efficient and secure software delivery.
Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting to resolve defects and enhance system security and functionality.
Monitor program metrics and report progress to ensure alignment with project milestones and business objectives.

What you'll bring:

Proven expertise in software architecture, scalability, and designing modular, extensible solutions aligned with business requirements.
Strong proficiency in Python programming and software coding standards, with experience in continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder relationships through effective communication, analysis, and engagement techniques.
In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices to ensure secure software development and deployment.
Experience in defect management, root cause analysis, and driving corrective actions to enhance product quality.
Familiarity with telemetry, testing methodologies, and automation tools to support robust software validation.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or related area and 4years’ experience in software engineering or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.

Option 2: 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.

Certification in Security+, GISF, CISSP, CCSP, or GSEC, Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity or related area and 2 years’ experience leading information security or cybersecurity projects, We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
