Join Walmart as a Staff Data Scientist and leverage your expertise in advanced analytics, machine learning, and data strategy to drive impactful business insights. You will identify and validate data sources, develop and deploy predictive models, and create compelling data visualizations to support decision-making across multiple business domains. Our team combines expertise in data engineering, software engineering, data science, and business analysis to deliver precise, production-ready solutions aligned with business goals. We develop enterprise-scale machine learning systems integral to every Walmart customer transaction, focusing on extracting and processing product attributes that ensure accurate taxation across all sales channels. Our work impacts every checkout and receipt, driving significant real-world outcomes. Collaborating closely with business stakeholders, we translate complex challenges into scalable AI applications, continuously enhancing models that support Walmart’s operational excellence and innovation in data-driven decision-making.
What you'll do:

Identify and source relevant data from multiple business domains and databases to support analytics initiatives.
Conduct data quality assessments and ensure data integrity for accurate analysis and modeling.
Develop, validate, and tune predictive models using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques.
Design and implement data visualizations to effectively communicate insights to stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business problems into data-driven solutions.
Deploy and monitor models in production environments, ensuring scalability and performance.
Mentor team members on analytical methods, coding best practices, and data storytelling.

What you'll bring:

Proven expertise in predictive analytics, machine learning algorithms, and advanced statistical modeling techniques.
Proficiency in Python programming and data visualization tools such as Matplotlib, Plotly, or Tableau.
Strong understanding of data strategy, data quality standards, and data governance principles.
Experience with model assessment, validation, deployment, and scaling in production environments.
Ability to translate complex business problems into data-driven solutions using appropriate analytical methods.
Knowledge of MLOps, automation, and natural language processing applications.
Effective communication skills to present insights and influence stakeholders.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
