Supervisor, Distribution

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities 

• Manage staff responsible for receiving, inspection, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping. 

• Plan and manage distribution activities through theutilization ofworkforce skills, hours,material, andworkflow toassuretimely processing and quality standards are achieved each day. 

• Organize and assign workconsidering the currentworkforce levels; instruct,guide, andassist employees in the performance of their work. 

• Maintain and develop an adequately skilled work force consistent with planning requirements and work levels, including cross training. 

• Participate in company programs, such as communications, job training, vacation schedules, and job evaluation. 

• Ability to gather information andreport about business needs proactively to Operations, Planning/Scheduling,Purchasing, Engineering, and Maintenance, etc.  

• Manage and enforce the use of safety devices and equipment, supervise departmentalhousekeeping, andmaintain constantalert for unsafe conditions. 

• Maintain conformance with company work rules and regulations, issue warnings forviolations and administer approved disciplinary measures when necessary. 

• Establishes andmodifies operational methods and procedures. 

• Maintains documentation to reflect the effectiveness and efficiency of department activities. 

• Frequentlyinteracts with other supervisors and functional peer groups at various levels.  Interaction normally requires the ability to gain cooperation of others, answering time sensitive communication, conducting presentation of information concerning specific projects/schedules and daily review of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity and Cost metrics.

Education and Experience Requirements 

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent strongly preferred. 

• Prior Supervisory experiencerequired. 

• Twoyears' experience inalogistics environment isrequired.    

• Machining,Planning, Engineering, orQuality backgroundis alsoa plus. 

Skills and Abilities 

• Effective communication skills with the ability tocommunicate effectively at any level. 

• Ability to work in afast-paced environment with competing priorities - ability to multi-task. 

• Detail orientedself-starter. 

• Demonstrated ability tosupervise with a warehouse, distribution,freight, orlogistics background. 

• Detail oriented self-starter that motivates oneself and their team toaccomplish daily targets. 

• Ability to proactively work through issues while still achieving schedules and on time performance. 

• Honest, fair,firm, and consistent with their direct reports.  

• Strong computer skills with Microsoft suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) 

• Experience withSAP, Kronos, and/orWorkday a plus. 

• Ability toestablish credibility and be decisive. 

• Above average communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at any level.
