Position Summary...

We are looking for Operational Lead who will be required to solve critical problems for Global Integrated Fulfillment application Production Support function. This Global Integrated Fulfillment function provides software solutions to Walmart associates for Picking and Dispense while serving our customers across chain of stores.



This role would be part of a team with rotational shifts in order to provide 24/7 support.

This is a full-time, onsite role at our Bentonville, AR office. This position is not eligible for remote work. We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to support and enhance mission-critical systems powering Online Fulfillment, including Pickup and Delivery workflows. This role blendssoftware engineering and production support, with a strong focus on system reliability, scalability, and customer experience.
You will play a key role in ensuring seamless order processing, real-time inventory accuracy, and last-mile delivery execution by proactively identifying risks, resolving production issues, and building automation to prevent recurrence.

What you'll do

Ensurehigh availability of fulfillment systems supporting pickup and delivery
Reduce order failures, delays, and customer-impacting issues
Improve operational efficiency throughautomation and proactive monitoring
  • Enable seamless coordination between systems handlingorders, inventory, and last-mile delivery
  • OwnL2/L3 production support for online fulfillment systems, including order management, pickup, and delivery workflows
  • Act as thetechnical escalation point for critical incidents, driving resolution with urgency and clear stakeholder communication
  • Perform deeproot cause analysis (RCA) and partner with engineering teams to implement permanent fixes
  • Analyze production issues atcode, infrastructure, and data levels to identify failure patterns and systemic gaps
  • Build and enhancemonitoring, alerting, and observability solutions to detect issues before customer impact
  • Design and developautomation tools and scripts to reduce manual intervention and improve operational efficiency
  • Supporthigh-availability systems, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid recovery (low MTTR)
  • Participate inon-call rotations and handle high-severity incidents in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to improveend-to-end fulfillment reliability and customer experience
  • Supportproduction releases, including code deployments, configuration changes, and validation in production and staging environments
  • Maintain and continuously improverunbooks, knowledge base, and support documentation
  • Drivecontinuous improvement initiatives to reduce incident volume and improve system resilience
  • Contribute toarchitecture and design discussions, especially around reliability, scalability, and supportability

  • Hands-on expertise inincident management, RCA, and production troubleshooting
  • Strong coding skills with the ability todebug and fix issues at source code level
  • Experience working inagile, fast-paced, and globally distributed teams

  • Strong programming skills inJava (preferred) or Python
  • Experience withSpring Boot / microservices architecture

Cloud & Infrastructure
  • Cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure preferred)
  • Containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)

Data & Messaging
  • Messaging systems (Kafka)
  • Strong database skills (MSSQL, SQL queries, stored procedures)
  • Experience withNoSQL databases (e.g., Azure Cosmos DB, key-value stores)

Monitoring & Observability
  • Hands-on experience withSplunk, Dynatrace, or similar APM tools
  • Expertise inlogging, tracing, and alerting frameworks

Networking & Systems
  • Solid understanding ofTCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, load balancing, distributed systems

Automation & Tools
  • Experience buildingautomation scripts/tools to improve operational efficiency
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and release management processes

  • Experience inOnline Fulfillment / Retail / Last-Mile Delivery systems

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
