Location: South San Francisco, CA 94080Worksite: 100% OnsitePay: $23.24–$23.57 per hourSchedule: Monday–Friday, standard daily hoursContract: 6 monthsContract Dates: October 20, 2026 – April 19, 2027Overtime: Must be flexible for overtime and schedule changes as needed
Job Summary
The Packaging Operator II will package, print, label, and inspect clinical pharmaceutical products in a regulated manufacturing environment.
The position requires followingcGMP, quality, and safety procedures while operating packaging equipment and completing production documentation.
Main Responsibilities
- Print and apply labels to clinical pharmaceutical products.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections.
- Complete final packaging of pharmaceutical materials.
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot automated packaging equipment.
- Use RF scanners and packaging systems.
- Complete batch records and production documentation.
- Maintain room and equipment logs.
- Complete forms, notifications, and Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
- Receive and deliver clinical materials.
- Perform material transfers and sample pickups/deliveries.
- Track material discrepancies.
- Support process and change-management activities.
- May serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) or Super User for labeling and packaging systems.
- Support departmental training initiatives.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3–6 years of pharmaceutical or manufacturing production experience, or:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field with at least 1 year of technical manufacturing experience.
- Working knowledge ofcGMP requirements.
- Experience working in cleanrooms or controlled environments.
- Knowledge of gowning and PPE procedures.
- Experience with visual and dimensional inspection.
- Ability to inspect labels, packaging components, folding cartons, and container closure systems.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Ability to follow written procedures and safety requirements.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment.
Physical Requirements
- Stand or sit for extended periods.
- Perform repetitive packaging and inspection tasks.
- Lift up to40 lbs.
- Push or pull more than75 lbs. of force.
- Work safely while wearing required PPE.
Work Requirements
- Must be available Monday–Friday during standard working hours.
- Must be flexible to work overtime.
- Must be willing to adjust work schedules when production needs require it.
- Must follow all cleanroom and controlled-environment procedures.
- Required PPE includes:
- Gowning
- Gloves
- Safety glasses
- Steel-toe safety footwear
