Job Description
The Systems Engineer within the Mechatronics group will serve as a technical specialist, providing expertise to support the development of new product ideas, concepts, and product improvements.
This role ensures that system designs align with organizational objectives and serves as the primary interface between Product Management, Solution/System Architects, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Software Development teams.
The Systems Engineer will be responsible for transforming defined stakeholder requirements into clear and comprehensive system and subsystem requirements that guide the design and development of the overall solution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to gather, define, and track product goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Translate product goals and stakeholder needs into comprehensive system and subsystem requirements.
- Generate, maintain, and manage Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for subsystem and vehicle-level interactions.
- Define functional and non-functional requirements within detailed subsystem specification documents.
- Analyze the impact of changes to stakeholder, system, and subsystem requirements.
- Support Safety Engineers in analyzing systems and subsystems to identify and mitigate risk exposure.
- Ensure safety goals, requirements, and methodologies are properly integrated into product designs.
- Evaluate new requests and provide accurate estimates for new features, functions, and system enhancements.
- Participate in conceptual design activities and related technical documentation.
- Lead design reviews to ensure requirements traceability, technical compliance, and alignment with system objectives.
- Review and approve test plans and procedures to ensure alignment with defined system and subsystem requirements.
- Support business development activities by providing technical input for proposals and participating in customer meetings as needed.
