Job Description
Role Overview
We are seeking an experiencedPTC Test Engineer to join our team and focus on testing and validating software applications within the railway domain, specifically Positive Train Control (PTC) systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing, hands-on experience with PTC applications, and excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
This position offers an opportunity to work on safety-critical railway systems and contribute to the development and delivery of innovative, reliable railway technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities;
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure software quality and compliance with applicable industry standards and regulations.
- Perform functional, integration, system, and regression testing of Positive Train Control (PTC) software applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software development, systems engineering, and project management, to identify, investigate, and resolve software defects.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum teams to support timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements and develop test cases for new PTC features.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, document, and track software defects through resolution.
- Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Java, Python, or C++.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including test plans, test cases, execution results, defect reports, and test summary reports.
- Support software release validation and regression testing.
- Stay current with industry standards, safety regulations, and emerging technologies related to PTC and railway systems.
- 6+ years of experience in software testing, including:
- Test planning and test case development
- Test execution and reporting
- Defect identification, tracking, and reporting
- Software release validation and regression testing
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Positive Train Control (PTC) software applications.
- Experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts usingJava, Python, or C++.
- Hands-on experience with the following tools:
- IBM Jazz
- Jenkins
- Git
- JIRA
- WinSCP
- PuTTY
- Wireshark
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and development teams.
- Experience working in therailway/rail transportation domain.
- Good understanding of messaging and communication protocols.
- Experience with hardware-level testing and firmware validation.
- Working knowledge of Linux operating systems.
- Experience installing and configuring software and firmware on hardware devices.
- Experience testingfail-safe or other safety-critical systems.
- Strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
