Job Description
The BSP Software Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, integration, testing, debugging, and maintenance of Kernel and QNX software for the company's next-generation In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) seat boxes.
The engineer will work closely with hardware, platform software, Android, system integration, and validation teams to enable and support QNX-based platform functionality from the bootloader through the operating system and device-driver layers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and test high-quality embedded software applications based on functional and system specifications.
- Enhance existing software to optimize performance, meet KPIs, improve efficiency, and increase system robustness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/DevOps environment.
- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.
- Create and execute comprehensive test plans and procedures to validate software functionality and performance.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback to team members.
- Participate in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), from initial design through deployment and maintenance.
- Develop, debug, and test Linux Kernel components and device drivers.
- Perform board bring-up activities.
- Optimize system performance and memory utilization.
- Develop software using C/C++ and Python, along with relevant scripting languages.
- Work with hardware communication protocols including UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, and USB.
- Support operating system development, security protocols, patches, and software updates.
- Work with hypervisors and virtualization technologies.
- Troubleshoot and support system boot processes and boot flows.
- Develop and maintain test automation frameworks, tools, and techniques.
- Support Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
- 10+ years of experience in embedded software development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux Kernel and device-driver development.
- Hands-on experience with board bring-up.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python.
- Experience optimizing system performance and memory utilization.
- Strong understanding of UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, and USB protocols.
- Experience with operating system development, security protocols, and software updates.
- Understanding of boot processes and boot flows.
- Experience with test automation tools and techniques.
- Proficiency with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with infotainment systems based on Qualcomm SoCs.
- Familiarity with QNX Hypervisor.
- Understanding of hypervisors and virtualization technologies.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP and HTTP/HTTPS protocols.
- Familiarity with wireless technologies, including Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
- Familiarity with satellite connectivity solutions.
- Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
