Job Overview
A key component of the Wholesale Lending Strategy is the implementation ofFinastra Loan IQ, a new loan processing application. This is a multi-year transformation program aimed at enhancing wholesale lending operations and technology platforms.
The Loan IQ SME will provide specialized application expertise to the Core Platform Implementation teams across Operations and Technology. This role will help ensure that design decisions follow industry best practices while leveraging knowledge and experience from previous Loan IQ implementations.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in delivering a major core banking platform implementation, supporting business and process analysis, evaluating solution options, defining acceptance criteria, and providing guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Loan IQ Functional Expertise and Implementation
- Provide expert-level Loan IQ knowledge across multiple activities and workstreams throughout the project implementation lifecycle.
- Perform functional analysis of Loan IQ capabilities against business requirements.
- Conduct detailed analysis of integrations with other systems, including Loan Trading, Accounting, and Risk Management.
- Analyze reporting requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Define booking models and workflows for various Wholesale Lending products.
- Facilitate Loan IQ configuration and accounting mapping workshops.
- Support test planning, execution, and validation activities.
- Contribute to migration strategy development, planning, and implementation.
- Analyze implementation issues, evaluate solution options, and present recommendations to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Loan IQ migration leads to identify migration requirements and define data mappings.
- Manage requirements in accordance with established standards and governance frameworks to support effective project delivery.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Operations, Technology, business functions, and application vendors.
- Work closely with multiple stakeholder groups to support program workstreams and facilitate informed decision-making.
- Establish strong, trust-based relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively to ensure that requests, recommendations, and project requirements are clearly understood.
- Balance tact, diplomacy, and assertiveness when managing complex stakeholder relationships.
- Support cross-functional collaboration and alignment throughout the implementation process.
- Assist implementation teams in resolving complex business and technical challenges.
- Evaluate solution options and support effective decision-making across multiple workstreams.
- Clearly communicate requirements, design options, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Build consensus and define mutually agreeable implementation approaches.
- Quickly analyze complex information and translate findings into structured recommendations.
- Challenge existing approaches and propose improvements to project management, administration, and communication processes.
- Identify and implement solutions to challenges associated with large-scale programs spanning multiple business areas and regions.
- Support complex implementation decisions, including business and process bifurcation where applicable.
- Manage multiple priorities and issues simultaneously while maintaining delivery timelines.
- Ensure all activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to the Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework.
- Follow internal policies, procedures, and established standards.
- Identify potential risks and support the implementation of appropriate controls throughout the project lifecycle.
Essential Skills
- Expert-level knowledge of Finastra Loan IQ.
- Strong understanding of Wholesale Lending products, processes, and operations.
- Knowledge of Financial Accounting and Risk Management, including Credit Risk and/or Market Risk.
- Proven experience supporting Loan IQ implementation projects.
- Strong functional analysis, requirements gathering, and solution evaluation capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to explain complex technical and business concepts to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools, including:
- Microsoft Teams
- SharePoint
- PowerPoint
- Visio
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within a structured project environment.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
- Experience managing requirements in Jira and maintaining documentation in Confluence.
- Working knowledge of project management tools and techniques.
- Experience with Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies.
- Previous experience supporting large-scale banking or financial services transformation programs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
