Job Description
Research & Technical Leadership:
- Define and own theresearch vision for Medical image analysis, Physical AI and Multimodal AI aligned with clinical and product needs.
- Lead development ofstate-of-the-art detection, segmentation, classification, and quantitative imaging solutions.
- Drive innovation usingtransformers, large vision and multimodal models, self-supervised and weakly supervised learning.
- Establish high standards forrobustness, generalization, uncertainty handling, and evaluation in clinical settings.
- Consider downstreamsystem and workflow constraints when designing models intended for real-world use.
Clinical Translation & Impact:
- Partner with clinicians and cross-functional teams to convert research ideas intoclinically meaningful AI solutions.
- Lead dataset curation and evaluation strategies accounting foracquisition variability, site differences, and data quality challenges.
- Support solutions throughclinical validation, regulatory awareness, and deployment, ensuring safety and reliability.
Organizational & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Mentor senior scientists and researchers; provide technical review and guidance across projects.
- InfluenceAI platform, tooling, and modeling strategy in collaboration with engineering and MLOps teams.
- Act as asubject-matter expert in medical imaging AI, advising leadership on technical trade-offs and opportunities.
Research Excellence & Thought Leadership
- Publish intop-tier venues (e.g., MICCAI, CVPR, NeurIPS, TMI, MedIA) and contribute to high-impact IP.
- Stay current with advances infoundation models, multimodal learning, and applied AI for healthcare.
Educational Qualifications:
- PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–8+ years of post-PhD experience in medical imaging AI or applied AI research.
- Strongpublication and/or patent record.
- Demonstrated ability to take work fromresearch conception to validated, real-world deployment.
Technical Expertise:
- Deep expertise inmedical image analysis (2D/3D/4D imaging across MRI, CT, PET, X-ray, Ultrasound).
- Advanced proficiency inPyTorch and modern deep learning workflows.
- Strong experience withmultimodal models, self-/weakly-supervised learning, and cross-site generalization.
- Solid understanding ofMLOps, experiment reproducibility, and AI development in regulated environments.
- Exposure toAI systems operating under real-world constraints, such as interaction with imaging hardware, devices, or operational pipelines.
- Familiarity with issues likesensor variability, latency, stability, or deployment constraints.
- Experience adjacent torobotics, intelligent devices, or simulation environments is a plus, but not required.
- Recognized fortechnical depth and scientific judgment in medical imaging AI.
- Thinks beyond individual models toend-to-end research and validation pipelines.
- Pragmatic, impact-driven, and comfortable operating across research, engineering, and clinical domains.
- Viewed as atrusted senior advisor by peers and leadership.
